Dude, I still have like five bins of unopened cars at my house, is this shit worth something now?

I haven't looked at any in ages, but this one on the right seems to be familiar to me.

Matchbox >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Hot Wheels

And I have the old Matchbox cars from 20-30 years ago, when they were still made in England. Then they started bringing out the Chinese/Malaysian/etc made ones and they weren't as good, but still look many times better than the tacky Hot Wheels.

I, too, always liked Matchbox better. The English-made ones are the best of course but the ones from the late 80's are pretty good (as are the current ones actually). However I also had some Hot wheels that I really liked too, particularly:

freshman year there was a girl on our hall who was handicapped and was restricted to a wheel chair. she was a bitch. my friends and i would open a door for her, not because she was in a wheel chair, but because she was a female, and that's how we were all raised. she would get offended, and give the time old "i can do it myself, asshole, type response". she had the same general attitude about her pretty much all the time.

anyways, second semester she got kicked out for smoking pot in her room. to this day we refer to her as...

HOT WHEELS

Bustleback Seville what what. Also comes in gold. I had one of each as a young'un, but lost the gold one along the way. Still have the two-tone, back at the parents' house.

I realize that, and the way the Matchbox ones are done (ie more realistic, more interesting/day-to-day time cars) appeal to me more. (I have a few of the newer ones) My favorite era are the mid 70's to early 80's Lesney/Superfast ones back when they were actually made in England, followed by the mid 80's to early 90's after they were bought out, but before the Mattel era. Mattel nearly killed them at first--late 90's to early 00's they were pretty terrible--but then they decided they need to re-differentiate from Hot Wheels and get more realistic/back to their roots, and that has been their salvation I think.
