we took a 3hr bus ride to Chichen Itza while honeymooning in Cancun. it included a stop at one of the cenotes, which is a natural water source deep inside a cave...it looked like this, we got to swim in it and everything. it also included a buffet lunch at one of the restaurants in town near Chichen Itza.

it was actually a lot of fun! there are people in Cancun who will sell you these types of bus tour packages regardless of the hotel you're staying at. always always always negotiate down. we talked 'em down at least $15/person.

I've been to the one in the cozumel. rented a scooter and traveled out there.

I've also got some good pics some where. Lots cool sites, huge fucking snakes, lizards, etc. Worth the trip.

Been to Tulum a couple times and Coba. Some pictures in my photo gallery. Tulum is pretty cool being on the beach and is much more wide open than Coba, which is all in the jungle. Coba has a ball court and a temple you can climb up (pretty sure the main temple at Chichen Itza is closed to walk up).

We were there on a family trip, so we rented a car and drove ourselves. On the way back we would stop at Xel Ha or Xcaret for snorkeling, etc. Xcaret has a real big show they do at night, but it's a lot more crowded than Xel Ha.

i went on a crazy adventure that you just have to try! first, i crossed a moat with purple parrots and green monkeys! then, i descended the steps of knowledge, next, i gathered pendants of life, finally, i retrieved an ancient artifact and returned it to olmec, the giant animatronic talking head!

they really mean it when they say don't touch anything at the ruins. I picked up this little statue to look at it, and the next thing I know I'm being chased by this big-ass boulder through the cave I came in through.

I, too, have been to Chacchoben and can vouch for it being pretty rad.

I went there from Costa Maya however, which is only 37 miles away. From Cancun I'd hit up Chichen Itza - or Tulum, which I think looks pretty interesting.
