"Shit hits the fan near Eyjafjallajoekull in south Iceland

An Icelandic volcano, dormant for 200 years, has erupted, ripping a 1km-long fissure in a field of ice.

The volcano near Eyjafjallajoekull glacier began to erupt just after midnight, sending lava a hundred metres high.

The last volcanic eruption in the Eyjafjallajoekull area occurred in 1821."

THEY WERE AT THE SAME VOLCANO LAST WEEK!!! THE CULPRITS HAVE BEEN OUTED....

Top Gear takes blame for Icelandic volcano eruption

Quote :
"It seems so obvious in retrospect, doesn't it? Consider the facts. Exhibit A: Top Gear has demonstrated a
penchant for visiting the faraway reaches of Iceland for some of their memorable television stunts and was seen
filming in the cold just last week in one of their beloved Toyota trucks. Exhibit B: The boys at Top Gear – and
especially ringleader Jeremy Clarkson – don't exactly have a stellar reputation for respecting the planet. Exhibit C:
A large volcanic eruption is taking place in Iceland as we speak.

We're not the only ones suspicious. Says media commentator Annalisa Kneejerk:

It has been scientifically proven that Top Gear is responsible for almost every evil in the modern world, so the
eruption of a furious tectonic force barely a week after Richard Clarkson's 'visit' can hardly be viewed as mere
coincidence... We have it on good authority that Jeremy Hammond [sic] drove one of his favourite Ferrari gas-guzzlers
at 100mph, straight into the main magma chamber, which could quite easily have caused this geological
catastrophe. Thankfully I've never watched the show.

Coincidence? We think not. After all, it's already been scientifically proven."

^^ Something to do before you die:

http://www.arctictrucks-experience.com/

I definitely plan on doing it 2-3 years from now when my daughter is at least 4 so she can enjoy it too.

They have all sorts of tours: winter, summer, day, 2-5 days, volcano, etc. Not expensive either.

AND YOU GET TO DRIVE THOSE TOYOTA HILUXES!!!

Quote :
"Over the past 1,100 years, Eyjafjallajökull has erupted four times: in 920, 1612, between 1821–1823, and in 2010. Each of the first three of these incidents preceded an eruption in the nearby subglacial volcano, Katla. Katla – a much more active volcano known for its powerful subglacial eruptions and its large magma chamber, much larger than that of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano system – has not shown any unusual activity, such as expansion of the crust or seismic activity, in 2010. Some geophysicists in Iceland support the notion that the recent volcanic eruption at Eyjafjallajökull may trigger a second eruption at Katla, one which would cause major flooding due to melting of glacial ice."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eyjafjallajökull

Quote :
"Katla has been showing signs of unrest since 1999 and geologists have concerns that it might erupt in the near future. Particularly, monitoring has been intensified following the March 2010 eruptions of a smaller neighbouring volcano beneath the Eyjafjallajökull glacier. The eruption of this nearby long-dormant volcano in March and April 2010 prompted fears among some geophysicists that it might trigger an eruption at the larger and more dangerous Katla. In the past, all three known eruptions of Eyjafjallajökull triggered subsequent Katla eruptions.

At the peak of the 1755 eruption the flood discharge has been estimated at 200,000–400,000 m³/s; for comparison, the combined average discharge of the Amazon, Mississippi, Nile, and Yangtze rivers is about 266,000 m³/s."

Apparently an actual Toyota press release!

Quote :
""INDESTRUCTIBLE" TOYOTA CONQUERS THE VOLCANO THAT EMPTIED THE SKIES

Hilux drives to the heart of Iceland's devastating eruption

A new chapter has been written in the world-conquering history of Toyota's mighty Hilux as it took on the ice and fire of Iceland's Eyjafallajökull volcano,
just hours before its eruption brought chaos to the skies of Europe.

The legendary pick-up that Top Gear simply could not destroy and which was the first car to be driven across the Arctic to the Magnetic North Pole
proved the perfect transport for scientists racing to set up monitoring equipment before the long-dormant mountain blew its top and sent a
vast cloud of ash 30,000 feet into the sky.

The vehicles used for the expedition were prepared by specialist firm Arctic Trucks to the same extreme environment specification as the Hilux
used by Jeremy Clarkson and James May for their historic polar expedition. With giant low pressure 38-inch tyres, the go-anywhere Hilux had the
measure of every challenge in its path as it made its way through ice and snow towards the volcano's fiery heart.

With Europe's most advanced aircraft rendered powerless by the ash-filled atmosphere, it's Hilux that once again has proved itself
the master of everything man and nature can put in its path.
"

OMF in the first 2 pictures below it looks like 2 big ass buff thugs out to kill you!
