How could I have possibly gone through life and not known about these clowns? I donated to the family that was harrassed by them yesterday.

For those who don't know, simply google them. it will literally give you hours of amazement and entertainment that somehow these assholes have managed to exist, that many in this church are lawyers, and that someone hasnt decided to go on a murderous rage with all the anger they must generate....

And big surprise, the ACLU has taken up their cause more than once. I guess there is nothing too indecent for the ACLU to support. At this point, I am positive they would have taken up Hitler's rights in some form or fashion.

I really hope that the Supreme Court will decide Snyder's case, and I really hope they do the right thing. Free speech does have limits, and this should be one of them.

The thing about the ACLU is that they always defend the asshats, on the theory that civil rights are most likely to be eroded with groups that are either unpopular (which is this case) or don't have much power.

Here is a case where they defended a student who was detained over having Arabic flashcards (to learn the language).

I think the WBC is about as horrible as they come, but if guaranteeing groups like WBC get fair and decent representation is the only way to guarantee an innocent kid with arabic flashcards gets fair and decent representation in a post 9-11/during a war on terror world, then yeah, I think the ACLU ought to be doing what they are doing. That said I hope WBC loses every court case it is every involved with, hard, for all their vile hate speech.
