i've heard from several people that NC has no money and can't give refunds back...

but i don't know how true that is.

NC will be holding the returns until August. that's the latest they can hold it before having to pay interest on it.

Same. Well, actually I did the extension on the night of the 15th.

This year I actually filed 2 days before. It felt wrong not procrastinating as per the usual.

I haven't, but only because an employer still hasn't sent my W2

If they weren't 2800 miles away, I would have already broken a foot off.

Yea, Ive contacted my friendly IRS agent and informed them of this. No worries on my part, extension was filed long ago, just in case.

I, too, am waiting on my Obama money. My refund is around $2k this year, but only ~$825 of it can be attributed to Obama.

Seriously? If yes, guaranteed audit. Will probably be a soft audit stating how much you'll owe them, but their computers are very good at matching up your return to reported documents.

yeah...i wasn't really paying attention...oops

why should i care if they audit me? THEY owe ME $500 and i haven't taken any crazy deductions...just a run-of-the-mill i-overpaid-my-taxes-again-this-year-so-give-me-my-money-back-bitches return

surely people forget to put their W-2s in their envelope pretty often...in any case, i don't care enough to stress about it...mistakes happen and if they want to waste taxpayers money determining that they owe me money, i'm okay with that

*shrug*

I actually thought you meant you hadnt included one of your W2s in the calculation. I doubt anything happens because you didnt physically include it.

^ oh, hah, no...i just forgot to stick the piece of paper in the envelope

i called NC DOR and they told me to just to send them separately...she said it shouldn't make any difference, but it couldn't hurt

so i lied...i worried it about it a little bit
