I'm hoping they'll move my account over. I applied for the beta when it became available. I graduated in December, so they probably just want to see my account get deleted.

ok, I got ncsu/gcal syncing to my BBI think i've got ncsu/gmail syncing to my BB (waiting on next sync)not sure on outlook though - same servers settings?hmm, maybe I'll just try to use gmail instead of outlook now... don't see any reason to use an email program anymore[Edited on April 3, 2010 at 1:22 PM. Reason : .]
4/3/2010 1:18:53 PM
^ It's nice to have integration with a program like Outlook, but the Google Apps suite can pretty much replicate all of it now, and add features like SMS reminders of calendar appointments.
4/3/2010 1:25:29 PM
yeh, it's got a ton of useful features. where in the hell is the contacts manager though?ha, theme fail. the link for contacts was nearly the same as the background color... couldn't see it [Edited on April 3, 2010 at 1:31 PM. Reason : .]
4/3/2010 1:27:51 PM
Dealing with contacts is Google Apps' weakest point.Open the NCSU Gmail web mail interface, and Contacts should be listed below your folders, lefthand side. All that said, once you e-mail someone once, Google remembers it across all of their web-driven sites. This is probably a lot more useful if you're not using the BB mail app, but it's something.
4/3/2010 1:31:20 PM

4/3/2010 2:12:22 PM
^ same problem for me.....
4/3/2010 2:17:19 PM
are you guys using the BB email app or the gmail app? I might try the gmail app
4/3/2010 2:20:57 PM
good point. on the BB app in advanced settings they have a ncsu.edu server as the IMAP server, that may be the problem but if i put a google server it reverts back...
4/3/2010 2:33:22 PM
^yeh, every time I changed it, it made me enter my password then returned an error and set it back to ncsu.edu
4/3/2010 2:34:34 PM
gmail app appears to work
4/3/2010 2:35:14 PM
i forget, will that still push the messages into the BB app?
4/3/2010 2:36:17 PM
no... but I may have lied... it loaded previous new emails, but I sent another after I downloaded the app and no new ones came in until I hit refresh....
4/3/2010 2:38:55 PM
i always have had to refresh gmail app... i just link that ho up to the native bb emailof course i also dont leave it running, i manage everything through my 'messages' so i dont have to do multiple checks and deletes[Edited on April 3, 2010 at 2:45 PM. Reason : yup]
4/3/2010 2:42:14 PM
^I'd like that, but we're not receiving emails in BB email...
4/3/2010 2:44:51 PM

4/3/2010 3:04:37 PM
i, too, have ncsu gmail
4/3/2010 3:10:39 PM
First look here message_topic.aspx?topic=586548&page=2Second for external devices/programs like BBs outlook, thunderbird etc, you have to resync your ncsu password here sysnews.ncsu.edu/passwd. Just use your existing password in all of them unless you want to change it all up. This resync may take up to an hr, possibly more to work. Also make sure you physically enable imap output in gmail. Lastly, for you new ppls, when you "transition" your account, it takes a few hrs to copy all your account over. wdprice3yes look around in gmail theres a way to connect multiple gmail accounts.
4/3/2010 3:26:35 PM
yeah once you enable POP on all of your other accounts, gmail can fetch all the old mail, its under Settings>>Accounts
4/3/2010 3:30:42 PM
any idea on getting email to work on BBs? We can send, just not receive. I noticed that the BIS has unityid.mail.ncsu.edu as the email server... should it not be imap.gmail.com? If so, the BIS setup won't let us change it (it always reverts back to ncsu.edu)^so just enable pop for all email on my old gmail. link old gmail to new gmail through new gmail, it automatically loads all email from old gmail. then I can disconnect them?[Edited on April 3, 2010 at 3:33 PM. i've fetched like 3000 emails from 3 accounts now. still no luck with the BB, though[Edited on April 3, 2010 at 3:38 PM. Reason : ^yep][Edited on April 3, 2010 at 4:01 PM. Reason : I'm pulling in the big guns, asked TT]
