That shit is about 30 years old. But I do think that sherrif needs his badge revoked because he's clearly way too into himself and his "right" to trample on everyone else's rights.

The whole "let me pose with my gun, which I plan to use on some non-violent pot smoking 18 year old" thing is really sick to me.


I don't mind people posing with a gun at the range or some shit, seriously. Or just messing around. But this is a person who is a professional gun toter and who is given authority to kill citizens of this country. He has far more power than any average citizen and can damn near literally get away with murder. As such, I just don't feel good about him posing with his gun in front of all that shit our tax dollars gave him to trample our rights with. You may say I'm making assumptions, but no level headed officer does that kind of over the top testosterone-filled bravado shit. At least with the average citizen they aren't using it legally unless they're truly defending their lives. This dude can hose down people at will essentially and face no major punishment (Peyton Strickland anyone?). I've noticed that people like this sherrif can be more dangerous to your life and liberty than many of the people he labels as criminals.

I still think it's entirely unprofessional to do the posing thing when that gun is going to be turned against citizens, but that's just me. It's basically a threat to everyone that sees it. It says, "Don't fuck around, because I'm going to kill you." I find that attitude disgusting. It's just a personal thing I have when it comes to professionals entrusted with that level of power.

If he wants to pose with guns, fine. I just don't like to see it done in uniform or next to all this other marked shit. It just sends a really bad message from my perspective. The message I get is that he's not someone to trust, he's not someone who is here to serve and protect. He's someone who is here to kill citizens at the first chance he gets and he wants to make damn sure you know it.


Some people may find this strange about me because I love guns and I'm all for people owning them. Lots of people. I like knives and I'm all for people owning them. Lots of people. I don't even care if people pose with them, but not in uniform if it's going to be like that. He's doing some kind of "LET MEH MAKE SHUR IT'S LOAHDED" thing to let you know "he means business". It's not about showing you the firearm, it's about showing you that he wants to use it in my opinion and for me there's a pretty big distinction when you have that level of power.

Yes, I know what it stands for, but it has never looked like "HUMVEE" to me.

To me it looks more like someone said "HUMVEE" with a cock in their mouth and that was how they came up with the "HMMWV" acronym thing, rather than "HUMVEE" coming from saying "HMMWV".
