Keep an eye out for any program with Dr. Michio Kaku (except for his series on Sci Fi Science >.< ). If I was in Raleigh I would let you borrow Carl Sagan's Cosmos on dvd in exchange for your knowledge about hiking that AT.

If you can find the Science Channel showing it, there is The Complete Cosmos which has nothing to do with Carl Sagan, but is very good in its own right. Also, Parallel Universe and What's Wrong With Gravity? They tend to show those a bunch. I used to have one whole episode from The Complete Cosmos but YouTube took it down so this snippet will have to do. The narrator of this series is also pretty awesome http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyvGGpM4I6E Try and find Dr. Kaku's series called "Time" it is amazing. Oh yeah, and The Hawking Paradox is one they play all the damn time.

you can "see" the black hole at the center of this galaxy, forcing shit into it, emitting large amounts of energy that looks like it is shooting out of the galaxy. The energy is caused by friction of matter at high speeds and turbulence.
