^^ This Apache crew accidentally killed a group of journalists. Thought they had weapons but they were large cameras and camera gear. They had actually been called into the area about a group of insurgents from my understanding and accidentally attacked journalists instead.

They purposely fired, but did not intend to kill journalists.

I'd call it negligent if they unintentionally fired their weapons. This was simply a case of misidentification though, which is certainly an accidental killing.

Why aren't you crying your ass off about it when we accidentally kill our own soldiers too? This stuff happens in war and if you want to run around in a combat zone as a grown male knowing full well that the insurgents are dressed JUST like you, then you need to accept the risks. I know you've got thousands of hours of flight time, most of it in combat, with which to judge how easily things are identified, etc, so you must know that the journalists were in the wrong place at the wrong time son. When you're trying to film combat, you inherently get close to the fighting and you run the risk of being killed by either side. This is really not that hard to figure out. They wanted a piece of the action and they walked head first into it.

Yea guys, don't be in any kind of open area with any kind of people or personal possessions, especially not in a zone where there was currently no active combat. That could be dangerous. Stupid NY Times journalists and their clothing trends.

You can't seriously think that the footage showed soldiers professionally doing their job. And even then, it's not the initial firing that's earning it so much coverage, it's the shooting of the van, the soldier's behavior, and the quickness to identify weapons they clearly cannot identify.

...but I guess this isn't SB.
