kinda weird, right?

I have never understood this
4/9/2010 5:42:50 PM
Its weirder reading their last few posts when they had no idea those would be the last.
4/9/2010 5:43:45 PM
i don't think its that weird cause the wall turns into like a memorial for them i guessits just like a place to say like "oh i saw this it reminded me of you" or "happy birthday" or "i miss you"obviously it means nothing for the dead person but it is cathartic to the people living without their friend/family/whatever
4/9/2010 5:51:05 PM
^i had to google cathartic
4/9/2010 6:00:07 PM
what is weirder is writing on one that is for a person convicted of murder and is a lifer in prison and only like 19 years old.
4/9/2010 6:03:14 PM
can't say that i have any felon facebook friends
4/9/2010 6:04:14 PM
but you do have quite a few dead people....I guess you just dont want to defriend the dead friend?
4/9/2010 6:07:37 PM
I write on a friend's wall that killed himself in 2008, and I'm not the only one. It's nice to see that others still think about him and what they have to say when they think about him.
4/9/2010 6:07:59 PM
Would that be one of the tdubers?
4/9/2010 6:08:47 PM
yea i mean why defriend a dead person? sometimes i might want to look at their pics or something.
4/9/2010 6:09:02 PM
No. No one on here knows him except for a few TWWers I know IRL that met him through me.^Shit, I was heartbroken for about a day when I realized w/ my phone messing up I probably lost his cell phone number/contact for good. Yes, it's silly to keep him in there, but it's a nice reminder of him when I scroll past his name. I was glad that I was able to recover it.This page has prompted me to look at his page, and it looks like he's been defriended by a few folks...but 35 of us are still holding strong to the memory [Edited on April 9, 2010 at 6:12 PM. I dont have an account, though I am thinking of getting one just to see if my classmates where I use to live prior to my parents moving are on there. We moved when I was in middle school and the other place I basically grew up with everyone. I have the old yearbooks from back then in middle school still....
4/9/2010 6:12:37 PM
^^ i know i still look at my deceased friend's profile toohe just died this past fall though so i don't think people have started defriending him yethe was a cool kid

4/9/2010 6:17:28 PM
really? is it weird to visit someone's grave?
4/9/2010 6:37:53 PM
All the dead friends I have on facebook still have active walls. It's mostly people writting "Miss you" or on their birthday telling them happy birthday...Their families are the ones that run them and I'm sure it gives them comfort knowing that people still think about them.
4/9/2010 6:40:30 PM
the other day facebook suggested i add this guy's brother who killed himself a year and a half ago
4/9/2010 7:20:50 PM
yeah, can be kind of weird.on a side note, Duck used to trip me the fuck out when she would go to dead people's myspace page and talk shit about them / troll the people reading their page on http://www.mydeathspace.comI miss o<

it gets a bit creepy when facebook says things like, "you haven't communicated with X in a while....send them a message." and i'm like i have 2 deceased friends on facebook. one died in a car accident and the other committed suicide a few years ago. people still write on their walls and leave messages.

My death packet (not a will, but in the same folder) has all my account passwords and instructions to trash them or the rare few to preserve them forever in a frozen state. And I won't have a grave either, part of my carcass will be launched into near earth orbit and the rest scattered at the house. I hope I am remembered by the lives I have touched, changed and hopefully bettered in some way. The affected don't need to remember me for evidence of me to carry on.Eh, its all open to change. I bet if I had a house, wife, and kids some of these may change.

while we're on the subject, I really hate those old, prudish spinsters who insist that their undertakers be female, because they don't want any man to see them naked, even in deathI want to hang their nude corpses in a public location, then spread pics all over the internet]

A girl I grew up with actually died while I was in the hospital having surgery in December, and I had just seen her a few weeks prior. She died giving birth, which is awful in and of itself, but she would've been a single mother, so I think all of us that are still friends with her FB profile do it to keep track of her son's progress. It's awful and heartwarming at the same time.
