The family of this child should be ashamed! They made a commitment to love, care for, and nurture this child through good times and bad. And families who adopt are well aware of the problems that they may face when they adopt a child from less than ideal circumstances.

Adoptive parents are well aware of the problems that these children can have. Many of them have severe medical problems due to poor prenatal care and/or maternal use of alcohol or drugs. The medical problems are then compounded by the psychological damage that occurs due to neglect and abuse. The older the child is when they're adopted, usually the more severe the problems. Adoptive parents usually have quite a journey ahead of them and I find it reprehensible that they tried to return this child like a faulty piece of merchandise after 8 months.
