it's a tricky line to trot. you either end up with every other joker being allowed to make an official thread for their favorite team, or you get a designated OFFICIAL FOOTBALL thread and everybody has to post in there

it's best addressed in a case-by-case basis. not every call will be black/white. if it's deemed the wichita st thread is sincere/of interest, it can be resurrected or recreated.

but the thing it is, it wasn't parody. i can definitely see how it could be misconstrued as one, but i had a PM discussion with BigEgo and he wanted another team to follow that would result in an interesting thread.

And that kind of thread wouldn't facilitate any discussion, meaningful or otherwise. At least we all have a (somewhat) vested interest in whatever team our old coach is coaching for -- or the Tennessee one which has more than a half dozen true fans.

My UConn threads have died down to the point I'm not even making one next year. For awhile, when they were good, we'd get like 3-4 pages of discussion about them. Now, not even one full. Not worth it.

^ seriously? He made the initial post about it and discussed it in the Arizona State thread (which I wouldn't mind being bucketed for a few reasons but it won't be). It was clearly done in response to that thread.

It's analogous to the George Costanza argument about the bathroom door reaching all the way to the floor with Susan and she said she didn't want to talk about it anymore. George was mad she cut him off because the conversation would have ended on its own accord. in other words, if the thread turned out not to be interesting, it would just move off the first page.

unless there was excessive bumping by one user, i don't see why he can't start a thread and just see where it goes.
