I went to a company anniversary party last night, and I was just blown away by the amount of food they had.

4 identical buffet tables
Each with 2 rows of identical food (either side)
Each table 65 feet long

So that's 65 x 8 = 520 ft of food

And that doesn't include the 2 fruit tables and 2 big ass dessert tables (100 ft of dessert), neither does it include the table with SIX 2.5 ft diameter platters each one with a whole cooked lamb on a huge bed of rice. BTW, the 4 long tables had on them an additional 8 of the whole lamb platters I described.

After people were finished, I walked around, and there was so much food left it was sad (and sick). I hope they give it to poor people or something (or give it to the party hall employees), cuz if they throw it away, that's just sick.

BTW, this company (my father works there) does this anniversary party every year at the same party hall. I would have to guess a 1,000 people were there. Maybe 1,500, but not more.

Someone told me the last time I went with my father in 2003 that it costs $270,000 to rent that party hall for a day. Or maybe it was $27,000... can't remember! I wouldn't be surprised if it was the former... it is huge, opulent, and the food is 5-star.

5 identical buffet tables
Each with 3 rows of identical food (either side)
Each table 66 feet long

So that's 66 x 15 = 990 ft of food

OK, I confirmed it, it is $270,000/day to rent the ballroom.

amac884 and lucyinthesky, I didn't see you there!

So what shape does that make the tables? Triangles? Or squares (66 ft on a side) with food on 3 sides?

in China (Hanzhou) they have places that are like giant hotels but the rooms are all separate private karaoke lounges with bars in them that you rent with friends and on the first floor they have an indescribably giant buffet with everything you can imagine on it FOR FREE. I don't remember how many tables/lines/etc. they had but it was massive and took up the whole first floor of what would amount to a Sheraton here.

I should have said "or northern NY"

I love wegman's blood orange italian soda. They do not ship so I have to get it whenever I can get up there.

ok ok, i know this thread is about the most food you have seen in one place but hear me out for a moment, I too have had a similar experience.

I went to the NFLPA Players Party at Super Bowl XLIII, and it was absurd, except that you remember they were feeding dudes with legs as big as me, so to scale it probably wasn't that much.

I went to a Subway last night, and I was just blown away by the amount of food they had.

4 identical french fry tables
Each with 2 rows of identical orange soda (either side)
Each soda 65 feet long

So that's 65 x 8 = 520 ft of food

And that doesn't include the 2 watermelon tables and 2 big ass ketchup pockets (100 ft of dessert), neither does it include the table with SIX 2.5 ft diameter platters each one with a whole best friend chicken on a hug ebed of rice. BTW, the 4 long tables had on them an additional 8 of the chicken bone platters I described.

After people were finished, I walked around, and there was so much food left it was sad (and sick). I hope they give it to poor people or something, cuz if they throw it away, that's just a shameful orange soda.

yearly company Christmas party, although it has continued to scale back a little bit over each of the past few years. 2007 was huge though.
