Will it take off? HAHA

But no really. Walking home from dinner I looked up and saw two planes RIGHT NEXT TO EACHOTHER. Here let me draw a picture.

One was gray with no wing engines and the one right behind was white with engines on the wings and they flew like that across the horizon. Some guy said they were refueling but WHY would a commercial flight need refueling in mid air??? They always fuel up each time they land!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if they took off or not, but from your picture and description they sound HOMOSEXUAL.

the one in front was actually towing the one behind it ... it's actually a common method for moving planes from place to place, saves energy

This plane did not refuel anything if your description is correct.

My guess is false depth perception and you saw two planes thousands of feet apart.

My guess is the sun was at such an angle and the plane was flying next to a cloud and you saw the shadow of said plane on said cloud... Maybe.

Maybe you just need to stop taking the pills, you're seeing shit.

Little planes are made because people want $99 coast to coast fares. So people are crammed into the smallest space possible and the airlines still lose money.

The president's plane never refuels in mid-air. Too much of a safety concern. It has the ability to, just in case. (and they may practice every once in a blue moon, but never with the president on it).

Plane will not take off from a treadmill.

Possibly this.

but probably refueling. The grey plane was probably a KC-10, which has 2 engines on the wings, and one in the tail. Air Force tankers are usually dark grey.

I don't know what would've been refueling off of it, but it wouldn't have been a commercial flight.

can i just ask a quick semi related question?

i thought air force one was only called air force one if the president was on board? and the rest of the time they (the "air force ones") are called something else

is that right? i did get that info from the history channel so you can never be sure

^^^ here we go...

^ yea the "one" designation can only be used if the president is on board (for any aircraft from any of the 5 branches of the military)

^^^ Tanker refueling another type of tanker, AWACS or weather aircraft? That's really all I can think of and I'd say you're right that the lead aircraft could have been a KC-10 viewed from a certain angle. Well, that and the fact that it's all gray may have simply fooled her eyes.

Pobably right. I jutstknow the engines on the white plane REALLY stuck out n plain sight. Also both planes were moving the exact sae speed and direction over the horizon soi don't think it was a perspective thing with thembeing a thousand feet away.

^I don't think it's that uncommon to have same heading and same speed in a pattern near a major airport. Particularly on windy days @ altitude.

How about a KC-10 refeuling one of the E-4's? Military 747, and it carries an all-white paint job.

Looking back, it could also be one of the C-135 Variants.

The KC-135's all wear grey paint, so most likely not the trailing aircraft, but it could be one of the RC-135, OC-135, or WC-135 aircraft.

Also possible, but much less likely, was that a tanker was refueling another country's transport aircraft.
