Music, barbecue, and beer hosted by The Pit downtown.

Is anybody else heading over to check this out?

Between last night's fish fry and today's barbecue, I'll have my whole weekend gluttonously filled if I can find a potluck to crash.

Great!

Pigging out (ahahahaha) + charity = Awesome

Saps, I tend to stick stuff like this in my Google calendar and then forget about it. Luckily, I rarely do anything spectacular on the weekends, so I'm free to go.

I called the Pit, but I couldn't get much of an answer. It sounds crazily busy over there. The guy I spoke with said the event is free, but you buy the plates, and then he hung up.

I wonder it BBQ could be shipped to an FPO address...Iraq took about a week for mail delivery...Qatar doesn't allow pork into the country. I don't know if it'll be an option in Afghanistan, but I wonder if there's any way to keep it cold long enough for it to get there?

[Edited on April 17, 2010 at 11:43 AM. Reason : I know you can order BBQ over the internet from King's BBQ in Kinston, overnighted to any CONUS addr]

mmm, i can see me saying that about country (and for the me the country i hate is today's pop country), but not bluegrass

bluegrass crossovers in to grateful dead territory way too much for me to hate it...as does some mid-years ani difranco...not to mention i've seen southern culture on the skids prolly 5 times since hs and was a big fan of barefoot manner

It was pretty cool. They had barbecue and brisket sammiches for $5 apiece. They also had freshly fried potato chips. There were tons of folks there.
