a country/state before you can say you've "been there"?

Does connecting through an airport count? I say "no", but what's the consensus?

my rule is:

1) stay there overnight, or

2) take a dump there (so if that happens in the airport it counts, but that's pretty rare)

Agree with overnight/dump rule

Airport connection doesn't count

I drove through the entire west to east part of southern Wyoming. It took like eight hours. I didn't take a dump or stay overnight, but that DEFINITELY counts as being there. I did eat lunch, though.

I think you actually have to leave the airport to experience the place. Otherwise I've "been" in a lot of places that I've never even seen.

i say connections count, but you have to give a disclaimer, that way you people can know the whole truth and make your determinations on your own

otherwise i can't say that ive been to new zealand

maybe if you've had a meal there it counts, but if you have soup, you have to crumble crackers in it, otherwise it's not a meal

i dunno, theres a disclaimer in there somewhere

i drove to colorado a few years ago and 64 took me through the southernmost tip of illinois, but i wouldnt say ive "been there"

same with driving to maine and going through the southern part of new hampshire

driving through a state for less than an hour without stopping does not count as "being there", hell id even say less than two hours

You have to go through the fat part of the state

Can't barely pass thru, like that retard leg on the top of Idaho

if i hadn't been to WV to snowshoe, i'd agree with that so i could avoid those 15-20 minutes of WV time i spent when i was taking a back way to DC from VA one weekend
