Suggest recipes for me. prefer vegetarian. I haven't gone grocery shopping yet so the world is my oyster! If I choose your recipe I will take a picture of the result and post it in this thread.

I just made an amazing chocolate using a unique recipe which I am sure no one has ever used. Here are the ingredients:

Betty Crocker's Dark Chocolate Cake Mix []

Unsweetened 99% cocoa baking chocolate (German), chopped, 75 g
Cacao beans (Ecuador), raw, finely chopped, 6
Cocoa powder (German), 3 tbsp

Bananas, mashed, 2 (separated batter into 2 equal parts, and added to 1 half at the end)
Zucchini, finely shredded, 1
Carrot, finely shredded, 1
Prunes, quartered, 15

Next five products by http://www.bobsredmill.com
Wheat bran, 2 tbsp
Oat bran, 2 tbsp
Flaxseed meal, 2tbsp
Rolled oats, 3 tbsp
Whole grain pancake and waffle mix, 5 tbsp

Water, ~1 cup
EVOO, 3 tbsp (could have done without any oil at all)
Eggs, 3
Natural yogurt, low-fat, 170g tub

Herbs Provencale, dried, 1/4 tsp (thyme, marjoram, rosemary, oregano, savoury, basil, tarragon)

I was also going to add 1 shredded apple (makes cakes/brownies very moist) as I have done it before, but with all the other non-baking ingredients I added for the first time ever (zucchini, carrot), I thought it wasn't a good idea as the cake might not bake and/or fall apart once baked.

Cake turned out extremely moist, and delicious. More like a rich dessert than a cake. And the banana one is even better tasting.

I have been making [relatively] healthy cakes and brownies for a long time, but I must admit, always from commercial mixes. In the next couple of years, I am going to learn proper [healthy] baking from scratch so that when it is time for my daughter to have a bit of cake on her birthdays, she eats delicious and nutritious stuff, not commercial shit full of sugar, white flour, nasty fats, and millions of colors, flavors, and preservatives.

BTW, the dried herb mixture added a very nice barely noticeable flavor.

ohhh that cake sounds DELICIOUS! I'll consider it. unfortunately buying 5 bags of grains to get a tablespoon of each seems like a waste to me

also the crappy grocery store near my house doesn't even have Bob's

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Ernie pwnt

(that's my recipe, and Ernie and some others have been reposting it on here to make fun of it... just because their small minds can't grasp it)

(you don't need 5 bags of the different stuff... use just one of the things, either rolled oats or oat bran, 5-10 tbsp, any brand as long as it is pure stuff... the soluble fiber in oats holds water making the cake moist)

LOL ... the part about the daughter did confuse me

rolled oats are just oatmeal right? I think I already have some Quaker oats (not the instant kind )

^ yes oatmeal is fine (not the instant kind).

^^ no you can't have a daughter because you are a misanthrope, a misogynist, and a misopedist.

Make what I am about to make: burritos. Simple, quick, delicious, nutritious, and satisfyingly fart-inducing!

Can refried beans
Large tomato, diced, thoroughly drained of the juice
Medium onion, diced
2-3 spring onions, chopped
2-3 cloves garlic, crushed
1-2 tbsp EVOO
Seasonings of your choice (or a burrito/taco seasonings packet)

Mix all in a pyrex bowl and microwave on high for 2 minutes. Stir and microwave again for a minute.

Thin whole wheat pita breads, warmed up (that's what I prefer, you can get soft tacos)
Mozzarella and cheddar, shredded
Sour cream

Put a thin layer of the burrito mixture on a pita bread, then some cheese, then another layer, then some more cheese. Top with sour cream, roll, and profit! Cheese should melt from the hot bean mixture, but if you want, you can add the cheese to the bean mixture in the bowl after you have heated it and stir so it melts and gets distributed.

Alternatively, eat the bean mixture (with cheese, sour cream, extra diced tomatoes) with nachos!

P.S. I hate light lettuce, so I didn't include it. Dark chopped lettuce can be added, or experiment with chopped spinach.

And for breakfast tomorrow...

Probably had one of the healthiest breakfasts on this page:

Bowl All-Bran with:
low-fat milk +
1 tbsp olive oil +
1 tbsp honey +
1 banana

1 glass drinking yogurt with live cultures (lassi)

1 guava
1 tangerine

1 mug black tea with milk

Make a butternut squash soup. I don't have a recipe but someone made some for me one night and it was amazing. I'm pretty sure it had carrots in it too.

ohhh the burritos sound AWESOME! however I need something where I can save leftovers for work. Actually on second thought, the burritos would make good leftovers.

well now I'm hungry so I'm going grocery shopping ... uh oh!! there's no telling what I might come home with

I <3 butternut squash but it's a bit hot out for a hearty soup. otherwise I'd be all over that.

burritos make great leftovers. here is the key to heating leftover burritos:

take them out of the fridge about 2-3 hours before lunch, so that when you heat them in the microwave, the pita bread and the filling both will get heated.

if you take them out of the fridge and heat them right after, the pita bread will get heated and become useless while the filling will stay cold.

well I didn't make soup, but Meg's idea about the butternut squash stuck in my head so I made a sort of salad with red peppers, jalapenos, butternut squash, and black eyed peas. There's some spices and a homemade vinaigrette on there too. sadly I the squash would've been much better in season

pic, as promised!!
