I read the first page of most posts. If I'm captivated by a topic I might make it to page 3, but by that point all that happens is people arguing about previous posts and no relevant new material is likely to appear.

I'll admit that sometimes I read things there and get so disillusioned that I just post something stupid to make a mockery of the section.
