Jeffery ... dude ... you're pulling these definitions out of your ass. Race doesn't exist biologically, it's a social invention. And socially Arab is not the same thing as white. Reminds me of an interview with an Iranian-American who had to mark "white" on his census form. Just think! Growing up he heard every insult - camel jockey etc, and all he had to do was say, "knock it off guys, I'm white." Those kids didn't know that the ancient Iranians share lineage with Europeans. Because it doesn't freaking matter.

okay, I pulled the Arab-thingee out of my ass somewhat...but I really don't think it's true that race doesn't exist biologically. An Asian guy is an Asian guy, a black guy is a black guy, a white guy is a white guy. The borders might be fuzzy, but on the whole, most people fit cleanly into one of three or four or five categories.

You can call these categories "social constructions," and from a certain point of view you're right; but the fact that most people are instantly identifiable as a member of one of these few categories suggests that there's something natural about them. (Actually, no; that's a poor argument. Most people are instantly identifiable as blonde, brown-haired, etc, but it would be stupid to categorize people by hair color. See below.)

As for race existing biologically, no, there's no one "black" or "Asian" gene; these are types characterized (I'm pretty sure) by a conglomeration of a bunch of different genes. But the fact that all the black genes seem generally to accompany one another, and all the Asian genes to accompany one another, argues that they fit into a single category, and makes it natural to group them together.

It's not ALL relative; although a lot of it is.
