i was listening on my way to work about mike finding his video camera through some clairvoyant lady that called in and told him where it was. Do you think that stuff is true at all?

my sister went once when her pets invisible fence collars went missing, both of them the same day. She figured somebody stole them. The psychic told her they weren't stolen and they were underneath the backyard deck. It's too small for a person to get in there so she gave up and forgot about it. When she rebuilt a new deck last year, the workers were digging up the old wooden deck and whaddya know, both collars were there the whole time. Crazy huh

I always wonder where they get half the shit they talk about. I've learned a lot on there. 30%+ of women would sleep with a guy without knowing his last name or less than 5 hrs after meeting him. And apparently I was subjected to too much testosterone in the womb and more likely to cheat because my ring finger is longer than my index finger. the more you know

Here are a few things:

1) I told him my ex boyfriend kept calling me to reconcile--and that I was considering being friends with him again. Albert told me to stay away and stop answering the phone calls because this guy is a major womanizer who lies about everything and I would soon find out some really serious information about that guy that would hurt me if I got romantically involved again. As it turns out, a week later I found out that Chris lived with his 5-months pregnant girlfriend. He had been asking me out to dinner and drinks for months while living with her.

2) He told my best friend that her mother was a lesbian and that's why her parents divorced. Som didn't believe him until Christmas, when she stumbled upon a steamy Christmas card from Brooke (the mom's best friend) to her mom.

3) He told me that I have a good life, other than my love life. Good friends, good job, good family. He said my problem with my love life is that I pick the wrong guys ... and he said that the last guy I dated had no guy friends at all ... which was surprisingly true!

I could tell more, but some of the stuff is just a little too personal.

am i the only person that always thought the phrase was "deep-seeded anger" not "deep-seated anger"?

1)LOL imagine that, who could guess that men cheat and lie
2) hm, he prolly saw your friends bull dyke mom at a lacrosse game
3) is the RAINBOW RUSE!!

There's more to that then you're letting on.

Psychics don't exist.

They don't.

Look, a guy named James Randi has offered $1,000,000 to anyone who can prove any paranormal ability, whether it's magic, telekinesis, psychic ability, or whatever. All they have to do is prove it, and they get the money.

Surely if your psychic was a legitimate person, he wouldn't turn down an easy way to make $1,000,000. After all, he would get so much publicity for his legitimate service, and become a millionaire at the same time.

And do you know how long Randi has had this challenge going? Forty years. In forty years, not one person has come forward who has been able to prove any sort of "magical ability."

So either psychics just hate money (in which case, why is he charging you?) or he's fooling you.

I'll bet $10,000 of my own money on the latter.

This article offers an almost identical experience to what I had with Dr. Bowes:

Quote :
"Albert Bowes lives on one of the original streets in the community. I called him on the recommendation of one of his previous clients and we scheduled an appointment for the next day. He requested that I bring up to 10 photographs or other artifacts on subjects that I would like to ask about. He also requested that I not tell him anything about myself other than my first name.

But I held no such restrictions for myself – I wanted to know about his background. It turns out that Bowes is, apparently, an ordained minister who had, in the past, taught a parapsychology class at the University of Florida. According to the information I gathered, he has provided his service to missing person cases, to archeological expeditions and even to local television programs.

I arrived at his office – a small house in Cassadaga that was filled to the rafters with all sorts of stuff (he was preparing to leave for a video safari in Montana) and we sat down in a cluttered room with books and photographs and a thousand other things. Again, Bowes requested that I not tell him anything about myself. I was careful not to – with one exception: I told him that I was skeptical.

"You should be skeptical," was his response.

At the end of this part of my session, he stood up, told me to place my photographs face down upon the desk and then walked out the door. He returned a few minutes later - the room, of course, was the same but the atmosphere was suddenly entirely different.

He abruptly began by uttering a short prayer. He ended by saying, "Amen," and then sat in silence with his eyes closed. I don’t know how long the silence lasted but when he began to speak, my down to earth view of things took a bit of a jolt.

With his eyes still closed, Bowes began to describe my childhood and career in a way that even my closest friends could not. During the first half of my session he told me that things come to him almost like a memory. In other words, it wasn’t like my whole life in detail was flooding upon him – but it was very much like describing what he had once seen.

When he finished, he paused briefly and then said, "Questions?"

I was somewhat taken aback but managed to ask a few things about what he said. Over the course of the next hour or so, Bowes accurately described my wife, her mother, my mother, my father and my career. He described other people in my life and also the problems and dilemmas that I am currently facing.

In a few instances, there was a small but significant detail mentioned – a name or description – but for the most part, it was fairly general. But not a newspaper astrology column kind of general. It was very much like someone was describing an overview that came, perhaps, as a memory.

At the end of the session, he again uttered a brief prayer and told me I could leave a donation if I felt his service was worthwhile. I left more than the suggested amount. And as I walked away from his office, I realized that somehow I felt lighter than I had in years. Somehow, someway, it seemed I wasn’t alone with the problems and concerns inside my head. I came to the conclusion that the session I had experienced was approximately 60 percent client-centered therapy and 40 percent completely beyond explanation. It was, for lack of a better word, remarkable.

My career is based on noticing detail in people and places – it is also based on fact. And despite all that, I have no explanation for what happened in that cluttered office in Cassadaga.
"

What a bullshit testimonial.

Look, do you understand what cold reading is? They take cues off of what you say and then build upon it. They can read information based upon your looks and your personality. They make guessing statements, and based on your reaction they can build on that. You want it to be true, so you forget any misses and only remember what he got right.

If he's really a psychic, can he guess a number between one and a million that you're thinking of in your head?

Wait, let me guess, he's going to tell you that "It doesn't work that way." No, he can only make general statements that you can apply to facets of your life in an attempt to legitimize him.

This guy is scamming you, Lucy, and you're falling for it.

How is he scamming me? It's like seeing a therapist, only it's way cheaper.

Basically, my first session was $50 but it lasted for 4 hours.

And afterward, the things I worried about that kept me awake at night and that made me sick from stress were suddenly gone.

It's not legitimate therapy. He's a con artist. He's fooling you into believing he has some ability to see into the past.

He's the kind of person who would say something like, "I can see your father. He's happy that you've moved on in your life."

When this is a complete fabrication.

It's like you're admitting to me that you know it's a complete fabrication, but you still go to him because you think it's good for you.

It's not. See a legitimate psychologist.

Telling a little kid that his dead cat, Mr. Winkles, is in ghost form and can communicate with you, and that Mr. Winkles isn't upset about getting run over, may temporarily help the kid get over his grief, but it's in no way an appropriate way to handle the situation.

I only went to him for the entertainment. But his advice ended up being very beneficial. The things that used to stress me now don't thanks to his advice. I've only seen him twice. At $50 per visit and four hours per session, I've more than gotten my money's worth just in entertainment alone.

Money well spent.

Some people like to sit around and play video games for entertainment. Not my cup of tea. I do find psychics entertaining.

I don't own a television. I don't have Internet at home. I don't waste my money on that stuff for entertainment, but yeah, I'll spend $100 per year to let a psychic entertain me. How much do you spend each year on cable and Internet? I spend nothing.

Different strokes for different folks.

Even if you go to a psychic for "entertainment value" and you know it's fake, you do realize you're helping keep someone in business who scams people, right?

There are people who waste thousands of dollars and put all their hopes and dreams on psychics. They get taken advantage of. They get taken to the cleaners.

And you're supporting him.
