Are all tv shows this stupid? seriously? I tuned in for like 10 minutes passing through the room and saw like 20 things that are stupid..

1. dude buried alive in concrete: well this might be feasible if he was unconscious or unable to move, but seriously, concrete does not dry that fast and it comes out like a liquid. its not that hard to just sit up.

2. (insert name here tires).. oh we see the tread is 255/70/18 sansung tires.. they must have come on a 1998 chevy blazer. yeah, sure. and nobody could have put them on a ford? I can see being able to narrow it down to a size or even a brand, but knowing what kinda car they are on? SURE.

3. The chain took 23000psi of pressure to break, so only a car with 350hp or more could have broken it... ok, did you forget about MOMENTUM? I doubt my little honda with 95hp could go crashing through a chain link fence.. LOL

3. the car has 350hp, so it must be a truck or suv..

4. a "sports coupe" definitely does not have 350 HP.. and they assumed it was a sports coupe because it had sansung tires or whatever bullshit brand they made up.

seriously... TV is slacking. I dont watch that much TV, but are all shows this stupid? Did the writers not grow up on this planet? How do you lack THAT much common sense?

I can't really watch cop shows, because I think they're all pretty stupid.

The only one that I got in to that was fairly realistic was The Wire.... and that's not even really a cop show.

i have never submerged myself in concrete, but i have seen concrete that i am confident i would have a hard time sitting up in.

I saw one CSI (Las Vegas) where they were looking for a body buried out in the desert. So to help build their case they were going to run in-place soil density tests to show that the dirt around the hole was more dense than the area where the person was buried. I agree with the premise.

However, when they got out of the truck, they pulled out a drive tube hammer and some drive tubes! I started laughing historically. YOU CAN'T RUN A DRIVE TUBE IN DRY DESERT SAND! Everyone knows that. The sand would just fall out the bottom of the tube when you tried to retrieve it. They should have been running nuke gauge or sand cone tests. DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

This show makes me so angry!

Yeah but even recent episodes of Law and Order have had that CSI bullshit in it.

I think it's lol that shows like CSI have increased the number of undergrads enrolled in forensic science and has also increased the number of undergrads who then drop out of forensic science. But what do you mean the average police force doesn't have billions of dollars worth of science gadgets?!?!?!

I watch Law & Order, Criminal Intent, and occasionally CSI (Vegas), and the shit doesn't usually bother me -- it is TV...

But I really fucking hate the way most of these types of cop shows characterize, often shockingly, that a gun is **gasp, OMG** unregistered. Even when they mention it "as-a-matter-of-factly", the message is the same. All guns in fictional cop TV land are registered. This is quite obviously a liberal plot to have people thinking, "Well of course. All guns are registered, aren't they?"

i saw an episode of CSI where they pulled out a little plastic thing-looked like a pregnancy test.
they were at a suspects house.
got a drop of blood from a suspect, put it in the end, and 5 secs later was all like "the DNA matches".

really. really?

and i also knew a guy that believed the things they did were real and was amazed by it.
never could convince him it wasn't.



now law and order...i can get on board with that (i guess its because i don't know much about law )

i wish you luck, because by the year 2023 40% of the earth's crust will be composed primarily of cop shows, courtroom shows and autopsy shows. CSI just manages to compress all three of them into one neat package.
