I am not even a huge coffee drinker but coffee down in Costa Rica was amazing. I would barely put anything in it and it tasted great hot or cold. One that I had on site at a coffee plantation down there was probably the best coffee I have ever had.

I had my annual regional meeting at 8am. I had to present a finance report at 8:30am. I stayed out drinking until 2:30am -- not my fault since it was WITH my boss and I didn't pay anything. I was super hung over. I went to a local Seattle coffee house (no -- not a Starbucks) and got the boldest flavor they had. It was fantastic and actually woke me up enough to get me through the presentation. I then promptly excused myself to use the bathroom and threw up. Fun.

I can't think of one particular cup that was better than another, but mornings that I get up early for no particular reason, brew a pot of coffee, and sit either in the quiet of house or outside and just enjoy the warmth of the mug in my hands have been pretty up there as far as enjoyable. A book I just read (yeah in the book she was drinking hot tea, not coffee, but whatevs) talked about the comfort of holding a warm mug as to holding a heart...I liked that.

I dated a boy who worked in a coffee shop and would bring me coffee when he came to see me after work. I looooovvvveeedddd that he smelled like coffee, and that he brought me my favorite drink was just perfect.

yes LK...i really really liked that scene and it got me thinking.

Have i had that perfect cup of coffee yet? i dont think so but i do know that i used to love sitting at the coffee shop with my ex and she was the first girl that i dated that enjoyed coffee like i do.

we would sit and talk for hours and i used to think that life couldnt get much better

It was one of the first times I'd ever really enjoyed coffee. I was about 13, and I took a trip to Europe with my grandmother. I'd tried coffee at home, but mostly just Folgers or whatever my parents drank, and wasn't a big fan. But one morning I was jet lagged and tired, so I decided to try a cup of the French coffee they had at our hotel breakfast bar. I think it was in Austria. It was amazing.

Not necessarily my best cup of coffee, but I got a french press and a grinder for christmas. With a little tweaking to get the brew how I want it, I'm liking it better than the chain coffee places.

Maybe it just feels rewarding to really make it yourself, but I think the quality is a lot better too.

Back when I was a wee lad, probably around 10 years old, my grandma would pour me a cup of coffee made from her stove kettle and add in the perfect amount of sugar and milk to make it the best tasting coffee ever. To this day I still can't duplicate it.
