I got hurricane shutters and flood insurance, so I'm covered as far as hurricane goes.
The house is in Gulf Breeze, FL. It's right on the panhandle, an area known for beautiful, white sand beaches.

it would appear someone has stolen your pier and your interior walls

see this is why people need to make sure their home inspector is reputable, he should've caught that

Yea, the pier is gone after the hurricane. The house is a work in progress. It's a foreclosure, so nobody has lived there for 2 years. It just need some TLC. For the ladies, here's the shot of the kitchen.

Get to work on that yard and driveway...will make the place look 100X better. Nice kitchen by the way. Inside to that house looks a lot nicer than the outside. I guess they were going for a "modern" look.

Oh...and I just bought one myself...inside pics to come, as the house was rebuilt and it's not completely done yet:

Would rather be living on the water like the OP...but I'll settle for downtown Charleston.

yea, I just closed on the house last Friday. Will try to mow the lawn this weekend, and then go from there. I'm thinking about building a stone grill near the water and plant some fruit trees such as mango and various citrus.

I paid $296 for it. The funny thing is this house was short-sale few months ago, and I made an offer for $350, but the bank rejected the offer and foreclosed it. Now they sold it to me 2 months later for $50k less.

lol, I wonder if I can get BP to compensate for that. If that happens, I'll be in need of the help of TWW lawyers.

The cool thing is that I got all the new appliances except for washer and dryer, which is highly unusual for a foreclosure.

^^ I disagree. Nice kitchen >> nice bathroom. And that much counter space goes a long way.

i have no desire to ever live on the beach or in florida, and this house still somehow seems like it'd be fun. i think b/c there's such a high grass:beach ratio.
