Yup, definitely like the Cary of ATL.

Go down the highway a few exits to the first MARTA station, ride into town, see a Braves game or the aquarium, or whatever else. Not crap to do in actual Alpharetta though.

My dad used to live there, definitely a nice place. There's plenty of restaurants and shopping centers, that's for damn sure. Like someone said, head to Roswell if you can... There's this awesome sushi place in Roswell -- I think it's called Shallots Sushi & Thai. If you're interested in shopping, Northpoint mall in Alpharetta is huge (but every time I went it was a clusterfuck so be mindful of that).
