OK, so here's the deal.Earlier tonight I was at a little get-together with a friend. One of his friends, who I'd never met before, brought a dog -- essentially black in color, and small to boot.At one point when we were all hanging out on the covered porch, the dog came out. I saw him when he came out onto the lawn, but for about a minute we lost track because it was dark outside and raining.Apparently he sprinted to the road. He got hit by a car -- we heard the sound of it. Then the car kept fucking driving. The dog got dragged with the car and it screamed the whole way.I get that the dog owner wasn't on his game. That's fine. There's no need to say it. But I can't imagine meeting a bastard who would drag a dog along with his car for a mile without stopping, and not wanting to hang said bastard from the tallest tree around. We drove up and down every street in the area looking for what was, most probably, a dead fucking dog. We didn't find him.I dunno. It's the wolfweb. Shit will be talked. Knock yourselves out. If I didn't vent somewhere I was gonna explode.

What a piece of shit human being. If you find them, I want to spit in their eye.
5/23/2010 3:40:33 AM
I just hope the dog died fairly quickly. My worst fear was finding a dog who wasn't dead but should be mercy killed. I was willing to do it, but I sure as shit wasn't eager.
5/23/2010 3:48:07 AM
that's rough

Well, I knew the fuckheads would start soon.
5/23/2010 3:53:54 AM
Nah seriously that sucks
5/23/2010 4:03:49 AM
sorry bout the dog, i was listning to some tunes
5/23/2010 4:13:55 AM
Maybe the guy didn't realize the dog was still stuck to his car. I know I'm not endangering my life by slamming on the brakes for an animal no matter how cute it is.
5/23/2010 4:43:44 AM
slamming on your brakes is probably the safest thing you can do. swerving if youre a bad driver would be the worst.[Edited on May 23, 2010 at 5:03 AM. Reason : .]

Depending on the road, slamming on one's brakes can be extremely dangerous. If there are curves in the road, another car could come flying into your rear end without having time to realize that you're at a dead stop. Most drivers trust that the road will be clear of stopped cars.
5/23/2010 10:18:46 AM
^ You'll just have to excuse Quinn, he's a fucking moron. Anyone who says slamming on your brakes is the safest thing you can do is a fucking moron.
5/23/2010 10:28:21 AM
Man, that's rough
5/23/2010 10:30:12 AM
This is why I hate irresponsible dog owners
5/23/2010 10:54:26 AM
That's pretty rough man. Sorry to hear it.I can honestly say that my car is so well insulated from noise and road disturbances... that if my windows were up and I hit a small animal without seeing it... there's a very good chance that I wouldn't know. That might have been what happened here, but I'll be the first to admit I know nothing about this situation other than what you've told us.If it's the case where the guy knew he hit a dog, and continued to drag it along, yeah, that would make him a pretty shitty human. I'd argue that would even be a case of animal cruelty (not stopping while the dog was crying from being dragged)

My dog got hit by a car. Someone witnessed it. Said the car didn't even slow down.My dog got out and booked it for the beach. He was even crossing the road in the crosswalk.
5/23/2010 11:35:09 AM
^well obviously they didn't see your dog. no one would hit a dog full speed intentionally because it might damage the car.
5/23/2010 11:36:34 AM
5/23/2010 11:37:04 AM
That could be the case. But Buster was a beagle and the car that it was an Escalade. Who knows. But it does suck when your pet meets an untimely death. My neighbor ran over my cat because she drove home drunk once.Another cat of mine got shot. One dog we had was poisoned. It really sucks.
5/23/2010 11:38:21 AM
meta-thread noise

I was in my backyard and my cat went to the cross the road to hang out in the woods he frequented. We had seen him even check the road for traffic sometimes. But this time, a car was speeding around the curve and hit the cat, maybe 10 feet in front of me. I was 15 at the time and screamed bloody murder. A neighbor came from down the street to see if a person had gotten hit. Max, the cat, was laying in the grass on the left side of the road about 25 feet down the road and he tried to pick his head up, but his back was broken. Dad had to put him down. I hate to see a dead animal, especially a pet, that's been hit. If I ever hit a cat, dog, etc, I will be so sad. I've managed to avoid animals so far...
5/23/2010 11:54:51 AM
I have never hit a dog but I know I wouldn't stop and try knocking on doors to tell the owner, mainly because the owner might be crazy and shoot me[Edited on May 23, 2010 at 12:06 PM. Reason : .]
5/23/2010 12:01:03 PM
yea no kidding... there's no good that can come from stopping.
5/23/2010 12:03:05 PM
^, ^^ you bastards. how would you like it if someone hit your beloved dog and left it for dead. for goodness sakes, atleast get out and see if it has a collar and try to find someone to help it. even if you just take it to a nearby vet, they'll usually take it in and either stabilize it until and owner is found or humanely put it to sleep if its obviously suffering.[Edited on May 23, 2010 at 12:13 PM. ncstateccc and Solinari are heartless cowards.
5/23/2010 12:16:59 PM
the situation sucks for sure, but you can't blame the guy driving the car. he probably didn't even notice he was dragging the dog.
5/23/2010 12:17:37 PM
5/23/2010 12:18:21 PM
So because you fucktards were to busy/drunk/stoned to look after the dog - its th drivers "fault"?its the owners fault - not the driver.
5/23/2010 12:19:34 PM
^^really? I've seen people dragging pieces of metal off of their cars without noticing.[Edited on May 23, 2010 at 12:21 PM. Reason : ]
5/23/2010 12:20:28 PM
^ maybe not his fault for hitting the dog, but definately his fault for not stopping once he did hit it. you'd know if you had a screaming dog being dragged under your car...
5/23/2010 12:21:02 PM
Also - please look up he word murder - its clear you have no clue of the words definition.
5/23/2010 12:21:41 PM

A dog being hit by a car is all on the owner, there is no reason for a person who was driving down the road legally and safely to stop and end up putting their life in danger due to something they have no control over, I hate to see dogs being hit by a car but like I said it is all on the owner and a person thinking with logic rather than emotions should know just to keep driving because you do not know how a person might react to their dog being hit, there is a good chance the dog owner will take it out on you and put your life in danger
5/23/2010 12:24:11 PM
^ if you hit someone's kid would still keep on driving? cuz i sure as hell would take that out on the person who hit my kid too...
5/23/2010 12:25:43 PM
I've had a pet hit and killed by a car, and I do not blame the driver at all. They did not stop, and frankly, it wouldn't make a difference if they did or did not stop.^this thread is not about a child being hit by a car. [Edited on May 23, 2010 at 12:27 PM. Reason : ]
5/23/2010 12:26:04 PM
fucking dog murderhow does that work
5/23/2010 12:26:54 PM
the safest thing you can do is just plow into it. and slowly come to a stop after you hit it.
5/23/2010 12:26:58 PM
5/23/2010 12:27:37 PM
^^&
5/23/2010 12:27:48 PM
sorry man that sucks
5/23/2010 12:27:53 PM
it may not be about a kid being hit.....but it's the same principle. he's saying he wouldnt stop because he's a pansy and afraid of what the owner may do....
5/23/2010 12:29:16 PM
i know you are just a troll indy, but it is perfectly conceivable that in the middle of the night, in the rain, the driver did not see or notice a small black animal darting out in front of his car. Hell, the people looking for the dog from the porch couldn't even see it.^it is not the same principle AT ALL. you people and your strawman arguments. [Edited on May 23, 2010 at 12:30 PM. Reason : ]
