I have tried the following so far:BRUSCHETTAORGANIC EGGPLANT & FRESH MOZZARELLAFARMER’S MARKETGREEKFOUNDER’S PIEPHILLY STEAK PIZZAMy God, they are freakin delicious and a delight to look at as well.
5/23/2010 6:15:28 PM
It's nice that they have a gluten free option (with gluten free brownies and beer too). Now I know where I can take my family to eat when they come to visit, 6 of them have celiac.
5/23/2010 6:18:00 PM
know where it will be?
5/23/2010 6:26:05 PM
what the hell is a gluten anyway
5/23/2010 6:27:48 PM
Okay.. now I am dying to try this place.
5/23/2010 6:48:13 PM
Why would you be excited about a chain boutique pizza joint when there are a number of awesome LOCAL boutique pizza joints?

There's a Pizza Fusion about three blocks from my place, and it is indeed pretty darn good pizza. I haven't found any place out here that can rival Lilly's, but Pizza Fusion gets my vote for top chain as well.
5/23/2010 9:26:04 PM
Uno's has a gluten-free crust too.
5/23/2010 9:39:10 PM
aunt millie's
5/23/2010 9:49:05 PM
I'll stick with Lily's Pizza.
5/23/2010 10:04:38 PM
Capital Creations has AWESOME pizza.Lilly's has and always has had some of the most overrated pizza I've ever eaten in my entire life. Of the 6-8 times I've been there, I've always been disappointed.
5/23/2010 10:07:38 PM
lily's would be great if their service wasn't terrible. moonlight for me. great pizza. great service.
5/23/2010 10:07:40 PM
i disagree. food isn't great. Moonlight, yeeeessss.
5/23/2010 10:12:23 PM
^^^ wtf are you ordering there ^^ I've never had bad service there, but I also tend to go during off hours or get it to-go.
5/23/2010 10:14:56 PM
I don't recall...I haven't been there in nearly 2 years. I do remember that the only thing I ever got there that I really liked was an enormous stromboli. Don't get me wrong, it certainly isn't bad, it's just grossly overrated. I've had worse pizza, I've had much better pizza. Of course, you have to factor in opinion and subjectivity and taste. There are people who hate McDonald's. I like McDonald's. and I've never noted awful service at Lilly's, but did take in just how disgusting and filthy every cook appeared there. I mean, they practically looked like vagrants every time I went there.
5/23/2010 10:20:59 PM
i've routinely waited over an hour to get food. now this would be somewhat tolerable if the staff didn't seem like they were doing me a favor waiting the tables (which they barely have to do in the first place). i say this as someone who really likes their pizza and used to go there quite frequently.i found the best way to enjoy lily's was to call ahead and then just pick it up and bring it home.
5/23/2010 10:23:44 PM
Yeah going there when it's busy sucks ass. I try to avoid that whenever possible. Also sitting at the bar you always get A++ service

I waited 2 hours to eat pizza at Grimaldi's under the Brooklyn bridge last nightmy folks wanted to do it - but it really does outclass most pizza I've ever eatenI have to try Di Fara on Avenue J very soon

I had some Hungry Howie's a few weeks ago. That shit was the butter. That shit was tight. Won't nothin wrong with it.
5/24/2010 8:30:15 AM
^^I agree. I usually look at the two as separate. Unless you're buying pizza by the slice, someone's going to make the pizza for you and it's going to take a while.ZpizzaLilly'sRuckus
5/24/2010 8:53:39 AM
Agreed that lilly's is overratedit's not bad, by any means, but it's not the life changing experience that some folks would have you believe.
5/24/2010 9:01:39 AM
Zpizza is pretty good, but that's mainly because the mozzarella they use is good, not that they're doing anything particularly special on their pizza.
5/24/2010 9:05:58 AM
^^Agreed. Do they even deliver? (Capital Creations does... 782-7080: NSCU area, 836-8000: north Raleigh)
5/24/2010 9:18:15 AM
I have never heard of Capital Creations before now, and that makes me sad.
5/24/2010 9:35:55 AM
^They are great! And they recently lowered most of their prices by about 20%!!!I'm glad to have succeeded in spreading awareness... (not buying an ad )
