To me debt-free with at least a years worth of expenses in the bank, a comfortable retirement account, and a regular job.Without debt payments you could make like $30K and live comfortably.
6/3/2010 5:45:09 PM
million dollar house or moreluxury carminum 1 million dollar savings + retirement
6/3/2010 5:48:34 PM
is that rich or poor?
6/3/2010 5:54:31 PM
"rich" - upper quartile net worth"poor" - lower quartile net worth"middle ground" - everybody else
6/3/2010 5:58:14 PM
100k/year salary or500k non real estate/automobile net worth
6/3/2010 6:01:58 PM
^That is dumb. This is not:
6/3/2010 6:03:58 PM
savings account / investmentsandaccepting financial assistance / welfare
6/3/2010 6:06:12 PM
^^really? because if you live in california your shack could be worth 300k now making you "rich" in net worth but if you actually got a mortgage on it you would be "poor" income wise.
6/3/2010 6:09:31 PM
6/3/2010 6:11:10 PM
^depends on what the loan is for.by assistance, I mean, you need it to pay bills...buy food...get by.if your loan is for school or business or something, that's not "assistance" as I mean it.
6/3/2010 6:13:57 PM
ohhhh ok that is better.i still used some loan $$ to live off of while in school. but i'm chalking those up as educational expenses. people have to eat while they go to school!
6/3/2010 6:17:12 PM
^everyone knows that most students are poor, lol.
6/3/2010 6:21:50 PM

Rich: Financially stablePoor: notI'm personally not financially stable, but thats what parents are for until you're about 25.I'm AstralAdvent and i approved this message.
6/3/2010 6:25:31 PM
WHAT? then my parents should be paying me back for the last four years of my life.though i can't complain TOO much cause i did get to go back on my parent's health insurance after i went back to school. but i age out in a month so i'm getting kicked to the curb again. and i lived at home for 2 summers whilst in law school. though the second one wasn't by choice. but that did save some $$$ on food. unfortunately i was still paying board at a place i wasn't living in i want a job so badddddddddddd[Edited on June 3, 2010 at 6:30 PM. 6/3/2010 6:29:44 PM
i'm speaking in general, it is fairly difficult for people to get jobs now and most people your age are going back to school because they can get loans and live off that + parents, and that's better than collecting unemployment i guess...Unless i make a shit load of money before i graduate i probably won't be stable by the time i'm 25. Then again i don't really spend money on anything.I'm AstralAdvent and i approved this message./]

rich: the ability to spend money on things you want without having to think about it. poor: not having money to spend on things you need.middle ground: money for things you need but maybe not all the things you want

rich: when you can live a very good life off the interest of the interest of your money
6/4/2010 10:55:57 AM
Poor- limited to no water, food, ,shelter, healthcare, rights, education, family/friends/love.I consider myself VERY rich by that definition.I don't care what anybody says, living in the USA makes you rich.[Edited on June 4, 2010 at 11:06 AM. Reason : GREAT THREAD TARUNY!]
