Not bad, but most anytime I eat it, I get heartburn.[Edited on July 25, 2010 at 8:35 PM. Reason : I eat it anyway and then go pop some Tums.]
7/25/2010 8:35:25 PM
I ate it as a kid, which was before I started to think about what I was actually eating. It was great then.
7/25/2010 8:37:40 PM
I am no longer a fan. I can't stomach the stuff.
7/25/2010 8:38:01 PM
Get the Italian sausage jumbo ravioli. I like it better.
7/25/2010 8:43:56 PM
i think i do remember it having a foul smell when other people around me ate it
7/25/2010 8:44:58 PM
http://www.goodguide.com/brands/215236-chef-boyardeehaha, look at the ratings spread - consistently bad.
7/25/2010 8:47:33 PM
it tastes like wet mush. i really dont get what the sauce is supposed to be, but it is not tomato sauce.
7/25/2010 8:49:56 PM
actually, I feel kinda bad hatin on Chef Boyardeeshit was good back in the dayI wouldn't eat it now, but it was good...I feel kinda like I'd feel insulting an old girlfriend who was no longer attractive[Edited on July 25, 2010 at 8:56 PM. Reason : /]

7/25/2010 9:05:32 PM
i ate the stuff as a kid, and now a can every 6 months or so. i still dig it on those occasions.

Hi I'm John Boyardee. Thanks for trying my beef ravioli.

Definitely edible if enough salt is added. Keep the shaker close by whenever you eat it.

There are three types of ravioli. mini ravioliraviolioverstuffed raviolithe overstuffed stuff is the best. It has the most [sketchy] meat of course, and if you get one of the jumbo cans you can have either a really big meal or two satisfying meals. The mini raviolis are different... they have a different sauce from the regular ravioli and overstuffed. The regular ravioli is kind of forgettable... definitely get the overstuffed over it.Another thing: the way you cook it makes a big difference. Microwave will give the regular and especially the overstuffed ones an uneven texture with dry spots on them. The ravioli will pop and make a big mess sometimes, so you need to cover the bowl with paper towel. The mini ravioli is more soup-like so the popping and drying out doesn't happen so much.Your best bet is to put the stuff on the stove and heat at medium low heat. Stirring with a wooden spoon while being careful not to inadvertently break the ravioli up into mush as you stir.

its one of those foods that you only think tastes good if you are young. i used to love them as a kid but i can't even smell them nowi'm the same way with spaghetti o's and kraft mac and cheese. it's all just
7/25/2010 10:42:54 PM
don't you say that about kraft mac and cheese
7/25/2010 10:47:21 PM
idki still like chef boyardeeand spaghetti osand box mac n cheeseand a bunch of other sketchy/only-good-when-you're-a-kid stuff

like it's really that hard to make cheese sauce and noodles? its totally worth the little extra effort as powdered "cheese" sauce is just gross
7/25/2010 10:52:27 PM
HURRY UP AND EAT YOUR RAVIOLI AND TELL US WHAT YOU THINK!
7/25/2010 10:52:48 PM
^^The 3 cheese shells kraft is awesome when made with the full amount of butter and milk. The powdered cheese is the only way to go with boxed mac and cheese. I do enjoy cooking the real stuff when I'm not lazy, but I still enjoy the boxed stuff.
7/25/2010 10:55:21 PM
never !!

my husband has me keep a couple of cans around for emergency foods. he seems to love it.
7/25/2010 11:38:18 PM
^^^^Agreed. The lubed up cheese sauce packets that were made popular by Velveeta Shells (and now Kraft Deluxe) makes me nauseous--ugh, don't even want to think about it. However, the powdered boxes end up being so much better to me, because, well MILK AND BUTTER.
7/26/2010 12:18:54 AM
its a good thing to keep in the pantry for those days when you just say fuck it
7/26/2010 12:21:03 AM
7/26/2010 12:58:09 AM
for the record, i never ate it lol
9/16/2010 5:13:13 PM
^Good choice. You should keep it away from light, at about 65 degrees, and 70% humidity. Store it this way for at least 6 months. Prime is 2 years.Enjoy your ravioli!

considering that pasta is already cheap as hell if you cook it on your own, there is really no advantage other than the fact that you can nuke it quickly and have something hot to eat.i eat it on occasion pretty much for that only reason. i have a particular friend who buys various chef boyardee products on road trips because he'll eat them cold out of the can. i, for one, refuse to eat canned food without giving a proper dose of radiation before consumption.
9/16/2010 7:46:41 PM
not bad considering that it isn't really food.
9/16/2010 8:05:10 PM
9/16/2010 8:28:30 PM
if you melt enough mozzarella on top, you really can't tell it tastes terrible
9/16/2010 8:32:46 PM
^ you can do the same to excrement.
9/16/2010 8:35:16 PM
The beef is awful (more like beef flavored paste), the pasta is mushy, and the tomato sauce is flavorless
