which banks in the Raleigh area have free coin counting machines?

I know that SECU has one.
7/26/2010 8:10:19 PM
^ That's a credit union, not a bank. (Must be a member to use their machines too btw).Oh snap!
7/26/2010 8:11:28 PM
I would think a bank would only provide this service for free if you are an account holder.
7/26/2010 8:14:42 PM
^^i'm gonna kick you

Food Lion has something called a Coinstar. I think I saw some hooker/druggy cashing in the seat cushion change to pay off some outstanding debts.

quit being lazy and roll your own shit
7/26/2010 8:16:51 PM
SECUgood luck otherwise. most the others are looking to make a profit ]

As I was writing out a cryfag post about how all banks charge for coins, i realized it actually smart because when people deposit 20 rolls of pennies, it's not worth your time to make sure all the rolls have 50 pennies in them. I can see how the 2.5% charge can cover this cost of when people knowingly or unknowingly try to rob the banks of pennies.[Edited on July 26, 2010 at 8:20 PM. Reason : .]

Why not just get one of the motorized counter things at wal-mart for $25. It's going to be a lot cheaper than the 10% coinstar charges.http://www.homecoincounters.com/royalfs4d.htmand it's 1/2 as fast as a coinstar (which I think is freaking awesome.)[Edited on July 26, 2010 at 8:32 PM. Reason : a]

Why not just pay in change over time. grab two or three dollars at a time
7/26/2010 8:32:14 PM
^^^ Because banks don't have a scale designed to weigh the rolls and know by weight if it's the correct amount...
7/26/2010 8:34:12 PM
Is that a serious post or a sarcastic post?
7/26/2010 8:35:51 PM
I've got like $67 in changedon't want to buy another gadgetCoinstar would charge me 10%I think I'd much rather buy some SECU member a beer or two for doing me a solid
7/26/2010 9:59:30 PM
I'll do it for $6.69
7/26/2010 10:11:55 PM
in what kind of container is the change being transported
7/26/2010 10:18:08 PM
7/26/2010 10:18:32 PM
^ every bank has a scale for that purpose
7/26/2010 10:22:47 PM
meh, I'm not sure about that. I've even asked a teller how they ensure the rolls were full and she said they didn't have a way. I've seen them take my rolls and immediately break them up and put some of the coins in their coin holder (not all, thus not counted).
7/26/2010 10:23:47 PM
^Every SECU does that shit.I don't know about every bank. It would be stupid not to.
7/26/2010 10:31:31 PM
There is no goddamn scale. Pennies weigh different amounts!!!!!!!!! They've changed the metal chemistry in lincoln pennies at least 6 times!
7/26/2010 10:40:22 PM
I've seen the scale, son. It exists. Now a bank might be retarded and not invest in one, but that doesn't change the fact they exist
7/26/2010 10:51:58 PM
woman. listen to how retarded you sound saying "scales exist" lol

7/26/2010 11:30:30 PM
7/26/2010 11:34:00 PM
oh for real?I might just put it into Amazon fun bucks
7/26/2010 11:47:17 PM
I'm going to the SECU tomorrow. If you happen to be at the same one at the same time, I'll do it.. but the chances of that are like, astronomical
