I do this all the time.I might have a little wine or craft beer on fancy occasions, for culinary reasons. I might sip a little water to assist with eating, if needed. But I don't understand people who down a half-gallon or more of some beverage when eating, especially soda or tea. Also, because of this, I almost never order "value meals", because they nearly always include a drink.[/blog]

I usually have a glass of water on hand; or if its breakfast some OJ.I like some salty and spicy foods, so part of the beverage function is to help with that.

GOTTA GET SOME SUDS TO WASH IT DOWNI don't get people who can eat without a drinkFaggots, all of them
8/23/2010 3:30:14 PM

I'd like to see indy eat a dozen buffalo wings in Inferno sauce without at least a glass of water
8/23/2010 3:31:02 PM
Uh, I will mirror that I don't get value meals because drink is an inherent cost, but not because I don't need a drink, but because water is usually no expense anyway and I'd just rather drink that. I have made many exceptions to this though. If I decide to order tea and it's very good, I will drink a lot of that, and likely not eat as much by recourse. (Also did this shit at the NC Farmer's Market Restaurant because I was thirsty as hell from the market and the flea market before).

beer complements certain foods particularly well, like pizza or wings
8/23/2010 3:32:55 PM
There is a lot of room in between sipping a little water and downing half a gallon of tea I just don't like eating meals without a beverage. If I am at my desk or at home, I am usually only drinking 8-12 ounces worth of something though. Certainly not 64 ounces

8/23/2010 3:33:05 PM
I go through at least three pint glasses of water or some similar combination of water, tea, soda, etc with nearly every meal. Usually more.I think my stomach is huge or something.
8/23/2010 3:33:43 PM
this is a pretty retarded thing to worry about

95% of the time, I have 20-24oz of milk or sweet tea with my meals
8/23/2010 3:38:42 PM
it is something interesting to notice, how much tea/soda people feel the need to drink during just one meal of the day. i'm trying to cut down the amount of soda i drink but i haven't been putting much effort into it lately
8/23/2010 3:39:18 PM
I like those gas stations where all drinks are the same priceSo even thought I may just want a 20 oz, I'm gonna get the 64 oz everytime
8/23/2010 3:39:25 PM
8/23/2010 3:40:14 PM
^I do that and take it home and put it in my fridge and drink it over a longer period of time, which is still bad but in my mind more economical (and pretty sad on the whole).
8/23/2010 3:40:57 PM
i eat without a drink all the time at home, but for whatever reason when i go out to eat i down like 4 glasses of whatever i'm drinking, which is usually lemonade of some sort

8/23/2010 3:57:36 PM
I always order drinks for everyone at my table, and fuck you if you turn down my hospitality

If I get a soda while out somewhere for dinner, I will usually get a diet coke just b/c that's what we had in our house growing up. I'd usually get around 8 refills. For the past few months I've been getting water and still get as many refills lol. I'm always thirsty
8/23/2010 4:14:59 PM
8/23/2010 4:22:29 PM
I drink half a gallon of milk with supper.
8/23/2010 4:28:33 PM
i cannot eat a meal without drinking like 9 glasses of water. i don't know, i get thirsty??which usually turns into me having leftovers because i get really full from all the liquid. but i don't know, i just drink a lot of water at meals.and i <3 soda and tea but have been trying not to get them any places that i go (or buy them when getting gas or whatever). maybe once every two weeks. at a sit down place i won't get a soda or a tea...just water. but like at wendy's or something i will get an occasional mello yello. and zaxby's has the cherry fanta. but i've given up most of that. i went to zaxby's last week with my dad and just had water. which seems like an easy feat for some, but i am a recovering soda addict, so. Eating meals without a beverage is a good way to....Stay thirsty, my friends
8/23/2010 5:59:51 PM
Unless I'm just eating a bowl of cereal or something, I will have a drink with my meal. Usually just a glass of water. I guess if I had to, I could do without. But I'd prefer to have a drink with my meal.
8/23/2010 6:16:39 PM
