wat?I searched for jackpot.http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/8385163/
10/1/2010 9:51:31 PM
Is that the evan?
10/1/2010 10:20:52 PM
in soviet russia, the jackpot hits you
10/1/2010 10:24:43 PM
^^nopretty crazy though. weren't a lot of tww people there that night? any info?
10/2/2010 9:11:19 AM
there are like 20 jackpot threads, obviously you didn't search that hardi was there but didn't see it. apparently it was random people walking by the front area. the guy flicked a cigarette which happened to almost hit two guys passing by so they jumped him. i heard some type of commotion as it was going on but didn't go outside to see what happened.
10/2/2010 9:21:50 AM
tough crowd around therea girl took a swing at me once outside there before falling on her face because she was drunk and wearing stilettos. i think she said i was looking at her and therefore i was a bitch?
10/2/2010 9:43:45 AM
I know a girl who got punched in the face there 3 or so years ago.by a fellow.
10/2/2010 11:55:40 AM
A know a TWW-er who hit a girl there. He might be the only person banned from Jackpot. He's the biggest fuckup ever, and pretty much a waste of oxygen.
10/2/2010 12:10:43 PM
So who was it?
10/2/2010 12:20:07 PM
interesting.
10/2/2010 12:44:36 PM
who was it that did it, or who was it that got jumped? the victim is some random kid, but there's a new update on the wral story where his dad says he's getting better every day, so that's good.as for the assailants, probably some assholes on their way to city limitscop came and bugged my friend at home at like 4 AM because one of his friends was telling the cops where people who frequent JP live...which goes to show you, NEVER ANSWER QUESTIONS FROM THE POLICE
10/2/2010 2:31:28 PM
i was actually wondering who the tww-er was that was kicked out for hitting a female
10/2/2010 3:15:28 PM
i got no clue, you'd have to ask ronnybut there were plenty of people who were banned from jackpot
10/2/2010 3:20:29 PM
damn, just saw a quick little blurb about this on the news, they said the police dont have any suspects and are asking anyone who knows anything to step forward. Sounds like the people might get away unless someone helps the police out.I know if I was beaten bad enough to be in life-threatening condition I wouldnt want the people who did it to get away. They said his condition was improving, but it took a turn for the worse and he's now in critical condition with severe head trauma. really sucks
10/3/2010 5:51:10 PM
recently changed from serious condition to critical condition^ damn you....[Edited on October 3, 2010 at 5:53 PM. Reason : a]
10/3/2010 5:52:50 PM
this is really disturbing and upsetting.
10/3/2010 5:56:12 PM
in other shitty news related to Jackpot, someone broke in on Friday, smashed everything inside, and stole the safe which had all the money they made on the last night. which was a lot considering it was slammed.hope this dude pulls through [Edited on October 3, 2010 at 5:58 PM. Reason : ...]
10/3/2010 5:57:50 PM
damn, that suckscan we get some names up in here.
10/3/2010 5:59:10 PM
wow
10/3/2010 5:59:30 PM
oh p.s. apparently serious to critical is a downgradeis downgrade good or bad?i'm guessing bad. because critical is worse than serious. it just seems weird to call it a downgrade. that makes it seem less serious when it is getting more serious. [Edited on October 3, 2010 at 6:12 PM. Reason : .]
10/3/2010 6:06:20 PM
when an X-ray comes back positive, it's actually a negative thing
10/3/2010 6:16:47 PM
critical means if shit gets any worse you are deadserious means seriousthe other ones are not that bad
10/3/2010 11:16:35 PM
well yea but what i meant is it is weird they said "downgrade" when really its getting worse! but it was wral so who knows if they use the right terminology i mean it makes sense because its worse so it is declining so going down i guess. but THEN its like if its a hierarchical scale with "critical" at the top, downgrade seems like it'd be getting better. know what i'm sayin?[Edited on October 3, 2010 at 11:18 PM. Reason : .]
10/3/2010 11:17:37 PM
if your condition is being downgraded, that means your condition is getting worse... it is not the severity of the injury/illness which is being downgraded
10/3/2010 11:19:14 PM
downgrade = shittier = worseupgrade = less shitty = better
10/3/2010 11:26:39 PM
yes i KNOW!! haha its just weird to me, is what i'm saying...not that i don't get it. kinda like when someone asks you to turn the air up. they usually mean make it colder which is really turning it down. and when you turn the air down you push it up so it turns off.i don't know it is just something that seemed weird to me, downgrading to more severe. but i guess my head just does the scale the wrong way. "critical" is at the top. where i guess if you are a normal human "healthy" is at the top and you go down from there. anyway, i just overthink things [Edited on October 3, 2010 at 11:32 PM. Reason : .]
10/3/2010 11:28:25 PM
it is just a failure to understand what the modifier term is being used to modifyin this condition, the confusion comes when someone is thinking a downgrade should be for the severity of the condition, when in actuality it is being used to describe the actual condition of the patient. With the air conditioning example, turning the "air up" for some people might mean turning up the power on the aircondtioning unit (or the force of the fan), thus making it cooler. For others, it might mean turning the "temperature of the air" up, thus making it warmer. It is all context
10/3/2010 11:32:15 PM
Well I'm glad we cleared that up. Get well soon beatup guy.
10/4/2010 2:57:52 AM
10/4/2010 8:49:12 AM
yeah I thought that too when I read that post.I mean if they beat on his door because they heard there were marijuana smokers in the area it would have been one thing but this guy is clinging to his life, and it could possibly turn in to a murder investigation. They have to follow all leads. You would probably agree the same way if you were friend/family member of the guy that got beat. Also how the fuck have this dudes friends not come forward at all? Was he at the bar by himself or something?
10/4/2010 8:51:28 AM
my point was that the guy who they harassed wasn't even at the bar when it happened, they just went there as a result of someone else blabbing unrelated addressesas for the kid, i've never seen him before. there's one guy i know in one of his facebook pictures, but said guy is an absolute waste of oxygen so i avoid him whenever possible

i hope this guy gets betterbut fuck the god damn police
10/4/2010 6:55:53 PM
so none of the THREE people who "assisted him" (aka, "hey man, you cool? ok later brah") have come forward with any info at all, huh?awesome. I find it hard to believe that at a place like jackpot, where, arguably, there were several more people smoking out front, that there is no one who can provide any information at all.
10/4/2010 7:03:32 PM
it's not that hard to believeif no one got a good look at the guy who did it, there's not much to say
10/4/2010 7:31:52 PM
yea a couple of the people that were out there or went out there after have all talked to the police multiple timesthere apparently were not a lot of ppl at jpot that night. its been kinda dead forever so it isn't super shocking that only 1 or 2 people might have been outside. i dunno. but i know all the bartenders, etc have been super cooperative. http://wake.mync.com/site/wake/news%7CSports%7CLifestyles/story/55862/raleigh-man-arrested-in-connection-with-jackpot-beatingRaleigh Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a beating that left one person in critical condition.25-year-old Charles Zachary Poll of Raleigh is charged with assault inflicting serious injury in connection with the Sept. 30 incident outside Jackpot Nightclub on Hillsborough Steet.Poll was taken into custody without incident and has been transported to the Wake County Jail, where he being held on a $7,500 bond.Witnesses say 23-year-old Evan Benjamin Lawrence was smoking a cigarette outside of the bar when he flicked the cigarette, which reportedly "hit somebody on the leg."Lawrence's father, Ben, says that is when his son apologized but the suspect "went crazy wrestling with him."During the fight Lawrence received what doctors would later classify as massive, life-threatening head trauma. But at the time, he walked away from the bar to his apartment about a block away."His friends checked on him and stayed with him all night and kept him awake," Ben Lawrence explained. "He wouldn't go to the hospital."Ben said Evan's friends finally drove him to Rex Hospital in Raleigh."They got him there some 18 hours after the incident," Ben said.Evan is still listed in critical condition at Rex Hospital.

7,500 bail for a life threatening injury?? What's to stop that guy from posting and disappearing?
10/4/2010 9:26:07 PM
^ 7500 could buy a lot of pbr
10/4/2010 9:53:16 PM
Whole bunch of shady with this whole deal...Massive, life threatening head trauma and his friends didn't bring him to the hospital for 18 hours?** Also, kiljadn on point in this thread. Cop hating is nearly out of control at this point...[Edited on October 4, 2010 at 9:57 PM. Reason : x]

maybe the head injury was covered up entirely by an ironic hat

You can walk away from a brain injury and the symptoms set in later......remeber that actress that hit her head skiing a
10/4/2010 10:19:03 PM
it said they tried to make him go but he didn't want to. i mean what are you gonna do? i think they ended up having to call his dad or something to get him to go. i mean...i'm sure they feel guilty now but it really isn't their fault. i don't think they are to blame at all. but yea, i'd probably be more forceful with my friend or call their parents right then. but its easy for me to say that sitting here now when i'm not in the situation. but i think the condition got worse and worse...like he started throwing up in the night and stuff. right then he was able to walk home, so who knows
