On renaissance pkwyand i heard these MAMMOTH splashings, and spent an hour and a half chasing what i thought was a fish...and then i saw the head of a mammal swimming about.my question is what could it have been. most likely it was a muskrat. But I also believe it could have been a beaver or an otter (???) Theres no dam...its just a giant retention pond and I dont imagine thered be any reason for a beaver to come to this area being territorial. Otters i dont think make noise, but at the same time it was WAYYYY too loud and too frequent to be a muskrati could hear them splashing even as i left the area a half mile away. This was about at like 9pmwhy would this creature be makin so much racket? i shined my headlamp on it and it was just the head of the animal, not full body exposed. it left a pretty soft but obviously wake, seemed somewhat of a clumsy swimmeri have video of it but i aint got it loaded yet. So much for my world record bowfin that i was so sure i was gonna land...its funny because i caught a small green sunfish and i threw that whole sucker on a hook thinking i was gonna catch a mammoth bowfin.its actually pretty embarassing finding out it was some mammal
