In my neighborhood, we can't have clothes lines.
10/7/2010 10:17:09 PM
it's for poors
10/7/2010 10:17:50 PM
10/7/2010 10:18:22 PM
After the panty thief incident, I wouldn't dry my laundry outside unless I lived in a rural area.
10/7/2010 10:20:22 PM
I say.
10/7/2010 10:20:43 PM
what about pollen season? gross
10/7/2010 10:21:02 PM
10/7/2010 10:27:00 PM
I do remember having to take down towels and there was a praying mantis and it jumped on my face and I screamed. Maybe this will be better for everyone involved.
10/7/2010 10:37:58 PM
when i was a kid we had a clothes line going from the back porch to a detached garage. there was a pulley at each end. i actually remember playing with that being one of the few chores that was any fun.
10/7/2010 10:41:17 PM
I live in Cameron Village, and there are clotheslines all over the place. Nobody uses them though. My grandmother uses one in her backyard to this day, and I swear it is a main reason why she doesn't smell like an old person.
10/7/2010 10:46:14 PM
good fences make for good neighbors
10/7/2010 10:46:33 PM
I think in Johnson County they still have a law where you can't hang laundry on Sundays. It's a blue law still on the books
10/7/2010 10:47:21 PM
in China I paid some chick to wash my clothes and she hung dry them. thems clothes started stinking.
10/8/2010 12:14:03 AM
my H.O.A doesn't allow clothes lines. I don't really care either way.
10/8/2010 1:39:47 AM
10/8/2010 1:44:14 AM
When people ask "Why Colorado/west?", this is one of the examples I use. The meddlesome, selfish attitude that leads people to even care how others do their laundry is less prevalent and acceptable out here.
10/8/2010 1:45:53 AM
i hate towels that have been air-dryed, they are all crispy and rough even if you use some softener. my MIL does that crap, i hate bathing at her house.
10/8/2010 4:10:11 AM
This situation isn't as bad as some places. In Soviet Russia clothes hang you.
10/8/2010 5:59:49 AM
i wouldn't like to live near an eyesore like that.
10/8/2010 6:18:49 AM
Hence another reason why I hate HOAs and would do everything I could to not live in a community that has one. While it's nice to have the electric dryer as a backup, I plan on drying my clothes on a line.
10/8/2010 8:55:00 AM
My grandmother had SERIOUS clotheslines...and they always got used. The dryer? There if she absolutely needed it, but rarely used.HOAs can all chomp my miniscule cock. I cannot stand the whole premise of being bound to somebody else's ideas of what good taste is.

.[Edited on October 8, 2010 at 9:05 AM. Reason : .]
10/8/2010 9:05:07 AM
I assumed this was due to the number of people who actually got clotheslined by these things... I know i took a few near decapitations playing football as a kid in my grandmas backyard.
10/8/2010 9:07:59 AM
don't they know that hanging clothes to dry is a great way to lower your carbon footprint?!?! GREEN IS IN!!
10/8/2010 9:11:35 AM
yeah, but only the the hipster HOAs are going to get in on that.like if there was an HOA in the five points neighborhoods. They've probably started them just to be ironic.
10/8/2010 9:14:04 AM
^^^that's why you get one like this:
10/8/2010 9:27:41 AM
clotheslined dried laundry is the best. fuck the dryer.
10/8/2010 9:34:26 AM
10/8/2010 9:43:15 AM
10/8/2010 9:50:09 AM
what do you save, like 40 cents a load?
10/8/2010 9:53:33 AM
I don't think its really about moneywould you think that you had saved energy if you were able to buy gas for $0.50 less per gallon?
10/8/2010 9:56:22 AM
You are the worst kind of person.
10/8/2010 9:58:46 AM
because I point out your specious logic?
10/8/2010 10:00:43 AM
I like using a dryer because it's quicker, convenient and I don't have to worry about the weather, but there's nothing wrong at all with a freshly sun-dried shirt. "Unsightly and even lowers property prices?" Since when?
10/8/2010 10:00:49 AM
No because you are a feminized, ultra liberal cuntface who lives off the government - yet still feels self-righteous enough to give us conservation tips.
10/8/2010 10:08:32 AM
there you go again with your partial truths I do not live off the government - but I did borrow SOME money for school through a federal programI'm not giving you conservation tips either - I'm about to use a dryerI was just pointing out that you're totally full of shit
10/8/2010 10:15:58 AM
I don't quite remember how Consuela dried our clothes
10/8/2010 11:49:29 AM
10/8/2010 11:53:20 AM
I had a housemate who didn't use the dryer to save money. He would string up a clothesline across his room on the days he did laundry. Then he would cook bread in the oven for like 4 hours a day several days a week, leave the front door open all winter like the glass storm door is some magical insulator, and leave his bedroom window open (cracked) even when there was snow on the ground. Saving energy my ass. That dude was the worst offender in the house.[Edited on October 8, 2010 at 11:54 AM. Reason : l]
10/8/2010 11:54:22 AM
sounds like your roommate was dumb about energy conservationand, by extension, everyone else who enjoys air/sun drying their clothing nice anecdote, thoughjust don't feed the trolls with your stories
10/8/2010 12:28:35 PM
hanging up your clothes ownsgotta love living in a city where people aren't slobbering idiots about this
10/8/2010 12:50:23 PM
Unsightly? Are people hanging them from thier mailbox to thier garage door or something? We have a clothesline on our back deck, and Ill be damned if someone is going to tell us not to use it when we want.Pretty soon, churches arent going to be allowed to have crosses on them, because they are unsightly and lower property value.
10/8/2010 12:55:48 PM
Yet another reason why I could never live in a neighborhood with an HOA
10/8/2010 12:58:51 PM
"unsightly" lmaowho the fuck thinks this. go fuck yourself.
10/8/2010 1:02:53 PM
i thought this thread was gonna mention hulk hogan

10/8/2010 1:49:04 PM
If we ban clothes lines, then only outlaws will have clothes lines.[Edited on October 8, 2010 at 2:36 PM. Reason : I definitely want clothes lines, compost heaps, etc.]
