is there any police presence? the franklin st thing always has cops that take away any remotely weapon looking part of your costume. does hboro do the same thing?

from my experiences, the police presence at the hike is pretty nonchalant. they're there, but they leave you alone unless you're:-acting a fool-drinking in public areasAnd I've never seen/heard of them taking away toy/costume "weapons". though if it looked real enough, you'd probably have a run in with your friendly campus/city cops.

Yeah the cops are generally going to let you do what you're going to do. The one time in Raleigh they know better than to mess with someone just because they are drunk. They are out there more as crowd control and to let people know they are there so don't do anything stupid.
