Specifically a ~48" round disk, no more than .75-1" thick, like a tabletop. Anyone know where to find something like this? Lowes only has them up to 36" diameter. And before you ask, I already tried EMCE's pants. He wasn't willing to part with it.

So, you're saying EMCE is hung like a cheese wheel?

10/10/2010 1:16:11 PM
well by part with "it" I meant a relatively thin cross-section of it
10/10/2010 1:24:19 PM
so are you wanting a single piece (like a slice of a log) or something composite (like a table top)?
10/10/2010 1:51:07 PM
what do you need it for?
10/10/2010 1:54:28 PM
i thought this was going to be a porn thread.

Jeff's Junk....The kind of thing that legends are made of...

^^^^ Don't need it to be a solid piece, probably out of my budget for this project anyway. Composite would be fine, but need it to be much more rigid than your typical ply/OSB ^^^ for this:or for more detail see message_topic.aspx?topic=602655^ is that a place around here I can visit/peruse? 15sec google search was ambiguous[Edited on October 10, 2010 at 2:34 PM. cutting a circle ain't rocket science:1. cut string or 2x4 to desired radius2. attach one end of string or 2x4 to desired center point 3. attach other end of string or 2x4 to saw and cut circle**alternatively you can hold the saw stationary (ie use a bandsaw) and rotate your workpiece...kids these days

i'll admit i was being a bit of a jackass, but you're mounting a lawn chair to a piece of plywood to be pulled behind a boat. how perfect does it need to be?in all seriousness, have you thought about trying one of those unfinished furniture stores? They might have a damaged table they're willing to let go for cheap.Edit: they ain't cheap.http://www.unfinishedfurnitureexpo.com/w48roplaltat.html[Edited on November 16, 2010 at 8:08 PM. those cut-off swimmin jorts are awesome. have you tried surfing that thing, then throwing a beer out of the boat and then trying to grab it from the board and circling until you grab it and the beer is gone?that seems like a fun drinking game. then when the mission is accomplished it is someone else's turn.
11/16/2010 9:11:11 PM
^^^^ hahaha yep...next time we go to the lake i'll try and snag one of our old discs beforehand and I'll show you the time of your LIFE. or at least a way to ski with a beer in your hand^^^ haha awesome...i can see that in that pic, but he doesn't really^^ PM sent^surfing as in scurfing? nah haven't tried that on the disc but i think it has too much lateral surface area, it'd get buffeted badly and be nearly impossible to control. and yeah, he is known for his jorts. whenever he wears out a pair of jeans he cuts them off and wears them on the lake. FINALLY in his old age he's learned that it ain't the '60s anymore and stopped cutting them off mid-thigh does sound like a fun game...we do get people coming up to us and offering beer or at least hollerin' when we're out on the water. pretty hilarious to watch everyone around us on the lake stop what they're doing for a few minutes just to watch
11/16/2010 9:35:57 PM
you should find a 36" tree round, that'd be pretty baller
11/16/2010 9:38:12 PM
yeah it would but it needs to be bigger...48" is a minimum
