I had a slammer that was a 1/2" piece of steel that would completely destroy any pogs it contacted

I remember how pumped I was after I got a shit load of "Poison" pogs from Chuck E Cheese one time. You could get like 1 pog for 3 tickets. It was awesome.

I have no clue what this shit is. Further proof I was no loser in grade school.[Edited on October 18, 2010 at 4:08 PM. Reason : .]]

10/18/2010 4:09:35 PM

I remember being insanely into these for exactly 3 weeks in the fall of 1994. A short while later I forgot all about them and entered my next brief obsession: Magic: The Gathering.

I remember these, but I don't know what you were supposed to do with them.

anyone remember the spaceship pog holder? I think it was BK that had those pieces. I think I was in 4th grade if I remember correctly. 94 does sound about right.

To play it you stacked the pogs upside down on top of each other like a cylinder. You would then throw the slammer onto the top pog -- you get to keep any of the pogs that flipped over. You'd take turns slamming them and whoever has the most pogs at the end of the game wins. If it is playing for keeps you get to keep all the pogs that you flipped. For most people it was just about collecting them though.

^That character with his tit grabbing hand look likes a big bag of marketing fail right there.

I remember making porn pogs by cutting out pictures from the back of trash porno mags and gluing them to pogs when I was in the 6th grade and selling them to the 5th graders
10/18/2010 6:11:37 PM
OH SHIT 1994!
10/18/2010 6:45:54 PM
lol...how did pogs even get big. The game just seemed so lame. <- bitter baseball card collector who saw xmen cards and pogs take over the market when he was young
10/18/2010 7:04:10 PM
they used to give Phantom Menace pogs on pizza hut boxes
10/18/2010 7:07:58 PM

just crazy marketing from the big food franchise. I just remember cool tv ads in between my afternoon cartoons and overly hyped. It got old right around 5th grade when I got my new computer and got into dune and command & conquer games.
10/18/2010 7:10:56 PM
now in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. "Give me five bees for a quarter," you'd say.

I remember thinking "Pogs" was one of the dumbest games ever when I used to play it.I turned out to be completely right about that one.
