Which reminds me that the other day one of my co-workers referred to it with, "You know when they just use random letters?" And also of the time a couple months ago when we printed "MONTH 1-14" on the cover of a magazine. Oops.

I suppose that's what happens when people are basically working for free.Newspaper is a dying art form.

The copy editors have nothing to do with mistakes like that, FYI.
10/18/2010 4:51:02 PM

pretty sure an editor would have to sign off for the layout design and a copy editor would have figured out that something wasn't right on that page. Shit, anyone looking at the layout would have caught that.

I'm satisfied as long as they've improved to their target goal of 60% readability.

well played.I'd say just make the whole back page soduko and word puzzles. Better yet, have them on the front page, I usually go directly to that page anyhow, saves me a step.

I remember back when I was writing for the sports department the copy editors changed my text to read "Stanford Cardinals." I got a lot of flack for that from the cross country teams. "Hey Todd, what's Stanford's mascot?" "It's the Cardinal." "Then why the hell did you screw it up in your article yesterday?" "Dammit."
