So....codys dropping me off at the airport. Can he go to the gate if he's not flying out?If not-how far can he go?
11/1/2010 7:54:42 PM
nope. probably just to the security part. which usually isn't far from where you check in...depending on which terminal you are innnnn.
11/1/2010 7:55:41 PM
If this is anything like Charlotte airport, security checkpoint is your last point if you're not flying out.
11/1/2010 7:55:42 PM
security
11/1/2010 7:55:48 PM
really?thats what cody said.i remember my mom seeing me off to flights a ton when i was in high school.[Edited on November 1, 2010 at 7:57 PM. Reason : i was wrong ]
11/1/2010 7:57:16 PM
bitch plz, they're evacuating shit because of snowglobes and you think they're gonna let his pasty white ass tag along?[Edited on November 1, 2010 at 7:59 PM. Reason : ]
11/1/2010 7:58:02 PM
^^ well you USED to be able to go to the gate. all that changed after that little 9/11 incident and all of the subsequent terrorist activity. esp on international flights the security is way hyped up.[Edited on November 1, 2010 at 7:59 PM. Reason : .]
11/1/2010 7:58:06 PM
need a boarding pass to get past the security check point]

"Thanks alot Bin Laden"
11/1/2010 8:00:18 PM
I still can't believe I have to take my shoes off and put my toothpaste and shit in a stupid plastic bag.
11/1/2010 8:02:23 PM
You can go to the gate. It's just frowned upon like masturbating on an airplane.Seriously though, just chill outside the checkpoint for a bit.
11/1/2010 8:02:29 PM
^^have you been in the body xray machines yet? shit is insane.its like one step below a strip search[Edited on November 1, 2010 at 8:03 PM. Reason : .]
11/1/2010 8:02:56 PM
No, but I know about them and yeah that shit is a little ridiculous.I have been in the machine that shoots air at you in random spots. The worst part was that it was only set up in certain security lanes. I don't know what it checks for (bomb powder I think) but if I was carrying a bomb I would, I dunno, go through a different fucking lane. Airport security has gotten way out of hand and 95% of it is bullshit.Ok I guess I'm done with that rant.
11/1/2010 8:06:22 PM
^^ I don't see the big deal with these. Silly anti-nudity American mindset. You know what I got and I know what you got. If you're self-conscious about your body, then this will just be another motivator to quit being fatties ^I believe you are going through the car wash line, sir.[Edited on November 1, 2010 at 8:08 PM. 11/1/2010 8:07:21 PM
hahahait has NOTHING to do with nudity or being self-conscious!
11/1/2010 8:08:17 PM
Then what seems to be the problem missus?
11/1/2010 8:09:06 PM
He can't go to the gate without a ticket...but I can. Bow chicka wow wow.
11/1/2010 8:09:36 PM
^that's what she said
11/1/2010 8:10:47 PM
i'd beat to pics of caldwell going through the body scanner...

Your airport range will really depend on whether you have a Macbook or a Macbook Pro. The MBPs have limited reception because of their aluminum enclosure, while the plastic Macbooks should theoretically get better reception. Obviously there is the possibility that Apple intentionally duped the Macbook's airport reception so that the cheaper laptop doesn't appear to be superior, although one can certainly make the argument that the 13" Macbook Pro isn't worth the money over the Macbook, but that's another discussion altogether. On my MBP, I find that you can solve some of the airport issues that one might encounter by disconnecting your connection from the wireless access point. Another quick fix is to simply turn airport off and turn it back on, and if push comes to shove, restart the laptop. Sometimes the issue is not with airport itself, but rather the router. Perhaps a setting on the router is causing some conflicts, especially if it's a Draft-N router. Since the N specification isn't quite done yet, but routers are still shipping with Draft-N, it's very possible that there is some compatibility issues, as both Apple and your router manufacturer may only comply to certain N specifications, especially since Draft-N has been around for at least 3 years. Putting your router int the b/g mixed mode is probably the best choice. Your range will be cut a bit, but in most homes, it's not an issue. If you still need help with airport, the tech support at the Apple Store can be helpful. They call them "geniuses," and while they're helpful, I wouldn't call them geniuses.I hope this has been of help to you. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.
11/1/2010 8:12:04 PM
The problem is the loser airport security guards deciding to pull every hot woman aside for special searches so they can put them in the scanner. "Random checks" my ass
11/1/2010 8:12:12 PM
i, too, have no problem with the body scanner imo
11/1/2010 8:13:11 PM
I'm pretty sure you can still deny to use the full body scanner, but then, of course, you have to get a pat down. It's bullshit that I still have to go through security.I can't be trusted.Except at the controls of the kerosene loaded missile.
11/1/2010 8:18:10 PM
yea. its just a right to privacy thing. not the naked thing. but there is a choice so. i'd personally rather do the machine than the pat down alternative. but i think both are slightly ridiculous.the pat down seems even more intrusive to me. its never fun having some dude continually wand your chest area as the thing beepshello, underwire brathe security in hong kong was SO intense. they do a final check when you are IN the thing right before you step into the plane. and they SERIOUSLY grope you. at least they send women to women though. because they do an intense pat down. way crazier than here.[Edited on November 1, 2010 at 8:20 PM. I really miss being able to spend time in the airport when I dropped someone off [Edited on November 1, 2010 at 8:29 PM. Reason : Ha! I once got dropped off at RDU for 4 hours when I was "kidnapped" when I was pledging. I got drun]
11/1/2010 8:28:34 PM
^ditto
11/1/2010 8:29:17 PM
well, the reason i ask is that im afraid of flying. really bad. even though ive been on at least 20something flight. (5-6 across country, about 10-15 to NY, and 2 overseas) i still get really really nervous before i fly. i wanted cody to hang out with me until the last minute
11/1/2010 8:31:14 PM
sad can you take anything before you go to calm you down??
11/1/2010 8:32:29 PM
....airport bar
11/1/2010 8:33:05 PM
I hate to fly also, but have to for my job. Go to the doctor and they can give you something that will basically knock you out before the plane even moves. Or just drink a shit ton of liquor.
11/1/2010 8:33:22 PM
^^^i have double my normal Rx for anti-anxiety (i even got offered an rx to beta blockers i get so bad sometimes, but i declined) [Edited on November 1, 2010 at 8:35 PM. Reason : ^yeah i have it ]

^International or within the US? If it's within the US just hang out outside of security til the last possible minute then go in, that way you don't have to sit in the terminal at all.[Edited on November 1, 2010 at 8:35 PM. Reason : .]
11/1/2010 8:34:49 PM
I hate flying too, but somebody has to do it.
11/1/2010 8:35:07 PM
im flying to chicago, but then a connecting flight to paris.....
11/1/2010 8:35:27 PM
RDU? Tuesdays are pretty mellow so you should have no problem getting to the gate in just-in-time fashion.
11/1/2010 8:38:53 PM
Some airports are trying to conjure up the atmosphere/revenue of airports of old, having stores/restaurants outside of the security lines; the latter being closer to the gates to allow time to be with non-travelers. Sadly, RDU is not one of them.
11/1/2010 8:39:44 PM
I have lots of memories of me getting really excited to see my dad's plane pulling up to the window, and then the walk swinging over, and eclipsing at seeing him walking down the ramp from the plane.
11/1/2010 8:41:55 PM
meh i have anxiety so i'm all about getting through the lines and where i need to be asap. mingling with non travelers would just stress me out!!1
11/1/2010 8:43:11 PM
i went through one of them full body scanners a few months ago and the security guy got called on his radio. he pulled me off to the side and asked if i had any 'hidden' piercings
11/1/2010 8:43:24 PM
11/1/2010 8:44:52 PM
last time i flew out of RDU i did the full body scannerand then i forget what it was but i did something wrong when i put my computer through the carry on scanner. i think i was supposed to open my bag and take the computer out and put them in the scanner seperately or something and forgot, so then when it went through it was a FREAK OUT minute and the guy was like "is this your bag" and i was like "yea" and he was like "you were supposed to open it" and i was like "oh sorry" and reached to unzip it and he was like "LET ME DO THE TOUCHING!!!!!!!!!"i was likeoh snap [Edited on November 1, 2010 at 8:47 PM.
