Fried Turkey. The Bo near me up here is offering them, seasoned and fried for Thanksgiving. Since it will just be me and the gf this year, thinking about copping one and just making a bunch of sides to go along with it.Anyone had one for Thanksgiving before?

Sounds risky.I'd do a trial run in the weeks before, to make sure you don't pull an Eddie Griswold on D-Day

My thoughts on Bojangles as a whole is "over rated" by ncsu students. I've never met another group of people that think Bojangles is anything special, yet y'all mental midgets cum in your pants over that greasy shit. It boggles my mind.

cant get them before the wednesday immediately before thanksgiving. so we will have to celebrate the native american holocaust with our turkey sight unseen if we go this route

I saw this in Charlotte yesterday. Their ad says "heat and serve" and it's $39.99. It might be an alright option, but it doesn't sound great.

Do you normally play the bitch in the relationship? If not, don't start, and tell that hoe to head to the kitchen.

State students jack off to Bojangles because State students are disproportionately fat and poor in comparison to Duke and UNC students, and thus the cheap greasy fare provided by Bojangles fits our demographic exceedingly well
11/8/2010 12:40:01 PM
in charlotte, it was as revered as any other fast food place. If I made this claim to someone back home, they would want me to explain more about how much ncsu folks love them some bojangles. But because I made this claim on an NCSU message board, I am clearly a "troll"I will say, I don't think bojangles is bad, but it can be substituted with any other fast food breakfast/lunch and I wouldn't carePS- their sweet tea is too sweetTHERE, I SAID IT![Edited on November 8, 2010 at 12:41 PM. Reason : Note: I'm not attacking bojangles, but rather the raving fanaticism of ncsu kids]

UNC is the place where Bojangles gives free biscuits when they score 100 pointsi'll agree that their tea is overrated...it's consistently bad, but occasionally it tastes alright. Usually though it tastes like an ashtray[Edited on November 8, 2010 at 12:42 PM. Reason : ibt howdoyouknowwhatanashtraytasteslike]

I got one a few years ago (as a second to the one my family was making) and it was a bigger hit than the home cooked one!Frying keeps the moisture in.
11/8/2010 12:40:54 PM
now if we are talking fried chicken, I always love them more than a baked turkeynever had a breaded fried turkey though- that could be interesting
11/8/2010 12:42:59 PM
mmmm I want a deep fried turkey
11/8/2010 12:43:17 PM
i've had homefried turkey before, but i always hear about how dangerous it is to cook it, so the bojangles route seems like a good choiceis $40 about normal for a prepared turkey? last year we got a bunch of stuff from honey baked ham and it was expensive as hell
11/8/2010 12:44:35 PM

Frying a turkey isn't dangerous as long as you aren't an idiot and follow the instructionshave a completely thawed out turkey, don't use too much oil, and monitor the temperature, and for god's sake, make sure you do it outside. Successalso, I have heard great things about the mail ordered turduckens - I would like to try one (especially since i found out you can get bacon thrown in there too)

Smithfields > Bojangles

Popeye's sucks moose cock.Smithfield's is damn good, but it and Bojangles are two different categories as far as I'm concerned.

i've heard the bojangles fried turkey is good, but never had it. if i was going to go w/ a premade turkey i think i'd choose one of these (not ranked in any order, but i've had them all):1. Q shack2. honey baked ham3. boston market2 and 3 are probs the best IMO. of course they aren't fried, but they are good for premade turkeys.

^^ Well yeah but I can't get Bojangles to brine it before frying it
11/8/2010 1:41:03 PM
I actually do not like Bojangles at all and do not understand why people in NC like it so much. That being said, if someone wants to get all excited about eating at Bojangles, then who the fuck cares, it's their life.
11/8/2010 2:06:40 PM
Bojangles is THE BEST hangover food IMO.

A few years ago I had a coworker that brought one to our Thanksgiving Pot Luck. It tasted pretty much the same as any other fried turkey I have had, so it was good. I do remember however that it was cold when he picked it up, and needed to be put in the oven for like an hour, which they didn't tell him ahead of time. So you might want to check with Bojangles to see if they still sell them cold so you can plan ahead.[Edited on November 8, 2010 at 2:24 PM. Reason : a]
