LOWES ALL THE WAY!Home Depot seems cheap and unorganized, as well as annoying. LOWES FTW!
1/9/2011 11:00:02 PM
burke bros for 90% of the stuff I need
1/9/2011 11:01:09 PM
They're the same store with different color schemes
1/9/2011 11:01:52 PM
But Home Depot has all the Mexicans in front of the stores
1/9/2011 11:02:38 PM
neitherno one in either of those stores knows anything about tools or appliancesthough it seems from my experience that the people at lowe's somehow know less
1/9/2011 11:02:59 PM
shop local you assholes
1/9/2011 11:03:37 PM
Lowe's is local
1/9/2011 11:04:25 PM

1/9/2011 11:12:21 PM

1/9/2011 11:39:05 PM
Home Depot is for bitch asses from Cary. Lowes is for men who actually know how to build/fix shit.
1/10/2011 12:05:31 AM
kobalt stuff is pretty good so lowes
1/10/2011 12:18:43 AM
My town (Sparta) used to have store #2 of both lowes hardware and lowes foods (both started in Wilkesboro, same family)They closed the lowes hardware though
1/10/2011 12:19:19 AM
home depot seems a bit less expensive.
1/10/2011 12:21:14 AM
Builder's Square never gets any love.
1/10/2011 12:47:21 AM
I'd rather buy from somewhere like Burke Bros. or Jondis, Lambert's, etc. in Smithfield (power equipment) than shop at either Lowe's or Home Depot. While both carry a lot of shit, they both fucking suck. We need to support more small bidness.
1/10/2011 1:36:49 AM
Of the two, definitely lowes. I get so happy when I walk in a lowes. I dare say the feeling is not dissimilar to a post-coital endorphin rush[Edited on January 10, 2011 at 4:35 AM. Reason : though +1 for Burke Bros.]
1/10/2011 4:34:39 AM
Home Depot got them Ridgid tools if you're looking for real workhorses (at a workhorse prices) but..."Best of all, the tools and included batteries are backed by RIDGID's Lifetime Service Agreement. Free Batteries. Free Parts. Free Service. For life."Personally, I have no need for such things and will get the cheapos from Harborfreight Otherwise, I go to Lowe's just 'cause it's closer.
1/10/2011 6:22:26 AM
Home Depot caters to the contractor or business.Loews caters to the home owner.
1/10/2011 6:42:39 AM
Lowes most of the time. Home Depot for Ryobi power tools.
1/10/2011 7:24:17 AM
as a builder i choose lowes. HD is unorganized and people are not friendly.
1/10/2011 8:01:07 AM
lowe's is local
1/10/2011 8:01:31 AM
lowes most of the time.Home depot for paint.Behr >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Valspar
1/10/2011 8:32:40 AM
1/10/2011 8:40:05 AM
They're like a block away from each other at Crossroads, so whichever one I get to first depending on the direction I'm coming from.
1/10/2011 8:57:00 AM
where I live, the people at the Home Depot are actually all very nice and very knowledgeable whereas Lowes was not at all. I'm sure it all depends on the staff.
1/10/2011 9:00:27 AM
wow PackPrincess, stalk much?I'm AstralAdvent and i approved this message.
1/10/2011 9:08:16 AM
Harbor frieght ftw
1/10/2011 9:11:42 AM
1/10/2011 9:26:46 AM
I think Lowes is a little cheaper, but in general they're both overpriced on most things. if you can find it elsewhere, there's a good chance it'll be cheaper.
1/10/2011 9:42:54 AM
1/10/2011 10:08:34 AM
Lowes or Ace Hardware. They're closest to my apartment.
1/10/2011 10:09:34 AM
Lowes is closest. That said, got some brackets and boards for shelving last night.
1/10/2011 10:11:30 AM
Harbor FreightThere is only one question a man is allowed to ask: "Where is the <thing he wants to buy>"
1/10/2011 10:31:08 AM
I originally said
1/10/2011 10:37:38 AM
My first pick is usually Lowe's with Home Depot at a close second. Sometimes I end up going to Home Depot first though, because it is right next to the Target at Crossroads.
1/10/2011 11:31:38 AM
assuming it's for a product that's carried at both stores, i can't imagine ever caring enough to not just go to which one is closer to where i am at the time i decide i need somethingsaturday though i did buy something at home depot, then go across the street to lowes to get the second item.heh
1/10/2011 11:33:28 AM
lowes. home depot, at least in rocky mount, doesn't carry as much stuff as lowes & the prices are higher. there's too much orange too.
1/10/2011 11:35:54 AM
harbor freight for tools, handyman (walking distance) for quick parts, amazon for bulk or expensive. contractor shops for specialty stuff like fergusons or contractor supply. lowes for shit like... paint
1/10/2011 11:38:09 AM
either one is as good as the other. I go to home depot because it's closer, though i would probably go to lowes if the stores were side by side since home depot is like the Walmart of home improvement.
1/10/2011 11:40:18 AM
lowes... unless it's for lumber
1/10/2011 12:47:57 PM
1/10/2011 12:50:03 PM
1/11/2011 2:19:06 AM
My family always had better experiences with Home Depot when building the current home.
