when I clicked that box saying I wanted insurance on my phone, I really meant it. Especially now that it's been swimming.... PS: This is apparently a HUGE problem, as I read on YOUR Message board... you might want to fix it![Edited on February 27, 2011 at 3:23 AM. Reason : so angry I said VerizonS....]

interesting...i should check on this
2/27/2011 3:46:05 AM
Were you getting charged for insurance on your bill?
2/27/2011 1:47:08 PM
well then don't do it online
2/27/2011 1:47:59 PM
lol
2/27/2011 1:48:19 PM
what? I don't get it.
2/27/2011 2:24:09 PM
I was never charged for the insurance.. so... my iphone is now a $300 paper weight and I'm gonna have to pay full price on a new one. This is apparently a common problem both for people that have bought the insurance online and in the store... so make sure you call them and then STILL check your bill.

you shouldn't have dropped it in the toilet.
2/27/2011 4:00:48 PM
I sure as hell hope you clicked yes on health insurance.
2/27/2011 4:02:07 PM
How did it go swimming? You dropped it in a pool? Toilet? Forgot it in your pants and you washed them?I don't even bother with the insurance because I'm not stupid with my $300 iPhone.
2/27/2011 4:03:07 PM
ITT, people don't check their bills, aka, are stupid with money. I look over every single bill, each month, no matter the amount or simplicity.
2/27/2011 4:07:25 PM
Seems like blame lies on both Verizon and wizzkidd. Verizon for having a system that doesn't work and wizzkidd for not checking his bill.
2/27/2011 4:12:25 PM
I paid for my insurance all upfront. yay protect cell.
2/27/2011 4:13:04 PM
I just avoid doing stupid things.
2/27/2011 4:23:55 PM
I just have it just in case I manage to brick it since I'm flash happy. Then it's going to get "lost"
2/27/2011 4:25:39 PM
wdprice3 how often do you discover a discrepancy? I check my stuff when it seems off, maybe I should be more disciplined.
2/27/2011 4:32:29 PM
2/27/2011 4:35:08 PM
I don't bother with the insurance. what is it... about 10 bucks a month? plus if you need to actually use it you still have to pay like 100 bucks out of pocket.
2/27/2011 4:54:04 PM
sprint sent me an actual package detailing my insurance program (way more than ATT ever did for me). Sucks you are learning about Verizon's customer service shortcomings the hard way, but this is why it is good to always get hard copies of things [/your dad telling you how it is]
2/27/2011 5:00:17 PM
pwnt
2/27/2011 5:05:19 PM
i've had an issue with that too. When I bought my last phone before the droid, i told them I wanted the insurance. then it broke. and I went to go get it exchanged and they were all "LOL WUT INSURANCE?"so when i got the droid i made a huge fucking shit about the insurance and then made sure it was on my bill.
2/27/2011 5:27:09 PM
You have 30 days to add insurance.
2/27/2011 8:15:41 PM
isn't there some sort of waiting period if you don't add it the day you purchase/activate the phone?
2/27/2011 8:20:14 PM
yeah, I there is a 30 day waiting period for most companies including assurion.
2/27/2011 8:30:18 PM
hey now nailed it:
2/27/2011 8:49:47 PM
Verizon has open enrollment on insurance until April.
3/2/2011 11:06:31 AM
the real problem here is you have nothing better to purchase than an expensive phone.
3/2/2011 12:37:00 PM
that's a dumb way to look at things.

Dear Verizons,Please tell the third party marketing company that uses a computerized system to call my phone three times a week and never has an operator available if I do answer so it just hangs up on me after about 15 seconds to stop calling. This is not making me want to sign a new contract.-Skack

i wonder if I still have insurance with ATT. I got it when i was on a cheap dumbphone, and I'm pretty sure it was still on my bill when i had my backflip for like 2 bucks a month haha.

I spoke with my insurance agent about additional coverage for such things and got an all risk inland marine policy on stuff like my phone, laptop, jewelry, flat screen TV, and camera equipment. Cost me like $30 a year but as long as I don't intentionally damage the property (hard to prove you did anyways) then my stuff is covered. Has come in handle already a couple of times. (Like when this kid that should have been on a freaking leash at the aquarium in Chicago knocked my camera out of my hand and busted it and the lens - $0 deductible and covered. Paid insurance $60 - they paid me $600 - ftw)
3/2/2011 3:47:38 PM
^ I might check with my agent about that. I've seen many phones ruined on the boat/pier.
3/2/2011 3:53:26 PM
i'd rather avoid having to use my home insurance as much as possible
3/2/2011 3:54:06 PM
It's on a separate policy than my home and not attached to it. Didn't even want the little charge to be tied up in our mortgage payments. If you want more details - I happen to also underwrite these type policies for one of the larger NC insurers, so I can get pretty detailed if you need/want me to.[Edited on March 2, 2011 at 4:07 PM.
