Heard a shit ton of sirens around that time near walnut street and Cary towne blvd area. Didn't see anything on wral.com.
2/27/2011 5:22:09 PM
White people were sleeping.
2/27/2011 5:23:18 PM
I was trying to sleep but those goddamn sirens woke me up. Sounded like an air raid going on.
2/27/2011 5:25:55 PM
Black man in Cary. Had to show him back to Raleigh.
2/27/2011 5:46:19 PM
someone robbed a bank with a snickers barthey killed his ass good
2/27/2011 5:53:17 PM
i bet the sirens weren't even necessary since everyone was asleep
2/27/2011 5:54:25 PM
See. That's a huge misconception. There are plenty of people of color in Cary. Granted they are our cooks, maids, butlers and gardeners. But they are here.
2/27/2011 6:00:15 PM
2/27/2011 6:15:45 PM
people talking about the east side of Cary like it's the west side of Cary ITT
2/27/2011 6:17:07 PM
Ahh. That explains the fire truck then. They had to hose him down first.
2/27/2011 6:17:55 PM
THIS JUST IN: Sirens to be outlawed in Cary to protect the ears and sleep schedules of its residents
2/27/2011 6:18:29 PM
I'm not saying outlaw sirens dumbass. I just want to know what all the ruckus was about.
2/27/2011 6:20:36 PM
They're a lot of Asians/Indians in Cary too. They pretty much run shit
2/27/2011 6:25:30 PM
Don't see anything major in my Locution email inbox for that time frame. Could have beena reported apt/house fire that turned out to be nothing. Full response gets sent out and thencancelled once a unit or 2 gets on scene and turns everyone back to stations. If it had beensomething major I would have had notices of additional units dispatched plus move-ups to otherstations for coverage. Sorry I don't have a 4 alarm fire to report
2/27/2011 6:28:08 PM
They are whole citizens. Not 3/5ths like the coloreds.

KE4ZNR to the rescue
2/27/2011 6:28:40 PM
^^^. Thanks. I was going to make an ATTN: kenzer thread. I figured it wasn't much since there wasn't anything on the news.[Edited on February 27, 2011 at 6:31 PM. Reason : ^]

I am far from perfect and miss stuff every now and then but thanks to having both an alphanumeric pager that receives all fire/ems calls and also emailalert for those same calls more times than not I see stuff as it happens. Of course having all of the radios does not hurt either
2/27/2011 7:03:26 PM
i was going to get my dad one of those unidens for Christmas until i saw the price

I don't know what happened around 3-4, but I was piercing a 16 year old's nose at around 12AM, and someone threw a rock through the down stairs apartment's window. We were just off of walnut and a couple cops came. This probably was not the incident in question though.

Hey, were you the guy that runs a stream on radio reference?I am taking my scanner to work tomorrow and setting up my scanner on my 5th floor window that overlooks the Air Care helipad. I think I have all the frequencies so I can listen in on the traffic as flights come in and out. Think that would be at all interesting for a live feed to run over the internet?
2/27/2011 8:03:29 PM
@Nighthawk Nope. My job is NC/SC Database Admin & Forum Moderator over at RR.com. But RR is always looking for more feeds. And it takes very little bandwidth resources. MOAR info can be found athttp://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/Live_AudioFeel free to email me at ke4znr -at- radioreference.com if you need more info. And for Gods sake KE4ZNR buy a damn ad.

^any idea what happened to the Dare Co. stream? I liked being able to pull it up at work or in the car. I'd set it up but I also like listening to Currituck, SHP, and DMF so if I do set it up on my second scanner it'd only be until Dare fully moves to their P25 setup. Like right now there's a fully engulfed 3 story house on fire and if this happened while at work I wouldn't know.

^I will try to find out. I honestly am so busy just keeping the NC/SC part of thedatabase updated & moderating the forums that I don't get a chance to play closeattention to the live audio side of things. If I had to guess probably whoever provided the feed just was not able to transition it over to the new P25 system (yet) or keep up with the changes. But if I find out I will try to drop you a PM and let ya know.I do need to get down to Dare Co for a day or two with my UnidenBCD396XT/996XT and run Pro96Com & Unitrunkeron the new system and map everything out. Just gotta find a couple days wherework is not tying me down.

My scanner ap only has cary at certain timess what would be a decent radio to pick up that would carry their frequency.
2/27/2011 9:19:13 PM
^^They aren't really using the new system yet. Since I got the scanner (pro-106) at christmas I have only heard them use it two or three times. It's apparently at reduced power still but because of the simulcast I was able to very clearly hear guys that normally would be cutting out or in a dead zone. The talkgroups are still an unknown though because I've only seen one name and ID pop up. From talking to some FD guys it seems like March is when they are supposed to be switching over. I think some stations/departments are taking a day off from calls here and there to install equipment and do training, at least that's what it seems like with a few things I've heard.
