3/7/2011 6:17:20 PM
Or just let them die. Survival of the fittest, bitch.
3/7/2011 6:18:30 PM
or how about the woman stays home and raises her kids
3/7/2011 6:19:02 PM
kids are always sick, shitty immune system or not
3/7/2011 6:20:16 PM
double edged swordIt's bad when the parents get sick, and miss workIt's bad when the parents get sick, and come into work getting everyone else sick.
3/7/2011 6:23:26 PM
Half the people at work are out sick today because some faggot didn't go home when he should have
3/7/2011 6:28:26 PM
Kids.
3/7/2011 6:29:21 PM
aha, yepman, when I get sick, I stay my ass at home and work from my couch.
3/7/2011 6:29:25 PM
Some parents use the sick kid excuse to go ahead and just get a free day off work
3/7/2011 6:33:22 PM
i feel very blessed with my immune system, i literally haven't been sick in over 15 years, not even a headache. maybe it has something to do with the fact i've never taken any kind of medicine, so my body hasn't ever been dependent on anything.
3/7/2011 9:07:51 PM
how about parents who send their kids to school sick despite having been sent home with a fever the past several days in a row. thanks for thinking of your child's health and the health of everyone around them
3/7/2011 9:17:17 PM
One of my coworkers has not made a full week since I started 3 months ago. Apparently talking to some of my other coworkers, he hasn't made a full week in the last 3-4 years. Nice guy, but shit is always happening to him, whether he's sick, sick kids, kids in trouble, ex-wife is being a cunt, etc.
3/7/2011 9:28:19 PM
^ that's exactly the type of coworker I'm dealing with right nowevery god damn week it's something]
3/7/2011 11:48:42 PM
I go to work no matter how sick I am. Screw not getting paid. I could be coughing up and lung and still go to work.
3/7/2011 11:56:34 PM
There is no "i" in team........
3/8/2011 12:02:34 AM
but there is a "me."I work at a doctors' office, so at least one co-worker is always sick. Our boss "encourages" us not to call out unless we're dying.
3/8/2011 12:36:41 AM
Walkman, he was sick again today. Apparently he has the "flu". I would assume he won't be in tomorrow either. Hard to believe he's made it 10 years here pulling shit like this.

Easy there, Bobby. Remember, some of us didn't grow up having to iodize tap water just to make sure we don't die from cholera, diarrhoea, paratyphoid fever, bacillary dysentery, hepatitis, poliomyelitis, and/or botulism.
3/8/2011 3:57:26 PM
A drink of ganges water every day, keeps the doctor awaybecause you die before he shows up
3/8/2011 3:59:01 PM
Hey Bob, how about you not instantly jump into asshole mode and assume tons of shit you don't know about. I didn't come in here looking for an argument guys, geez. For the record, I had cancer when I was much younger (before the age of 5), so yes, I have of course used medicine to some degree. What I was trying to point out is that for the last 20 years or so I have gone out of my way to avoid it because I get sick of people being wussies and acting like they have to take medicine for every little thing. Some of the sickest people I know are the ones who take ten pills a day trying to prevent sickness or feel like they have to take out multiple aspirins for the smallest headache. I don't want to get to the point where my body can't fight off viruses on its own. It's not some stupid christian-scientist logic. I grew up poor as shit, and i'm glad my parents didn't pump us full of medications. [Edited on March 8, 2011 at 4:39 PM. Reason : .]

What does your family being poor have to do with anything?
3/8/2011 4:45:11 PM
Street cred. You think Eminem would've blown up if he came from money?
3/8/2011 4:58:55 PM
I think the point is that poor people can't afford to freak out and overmedicate over every little thing.
3/8/2011 5:42:38 PM
^correct.obviously when I have kids i'm going to give them medicine when they're sick, but once they're old enough to have more common sense, I don't want them running to a medicine cabinet every time they have the sniffles. If people just stay active and avoid eating like shit all the time, that would help a tremendous amount.

my father never missed a day of workbecause he had a wife to take care of shit like thisi can only imagine the type of looks he would have gotten at his firm if he told people he needed the day off to take care of his children
3/8/2011 10:44:10 PM
It's cause parents and perscription happy doctors pump kids full of antibiotics before kids immune systems can even get a chance to build up.
3/8/2011 10:45:56 PM
Yes, that's the only reason kids get sick
3/8/2011 11:24:32 PM
it's a big reasondouchebag parents banging on the counter demanding antibiotics for even the slightest little bugstunting immune system development and ruining the effectiveness of antibiotics for the population at largeFUCK DOUCHEBAG PARENTS

after i finish the work that absolutely HAS to be done in the office, i may be working the rest of the day from the couch...i can pretty much do most of my job from home
3/9/2011 8:43:33 AM
What are you people roofers or something? Work form home for christ sakes.
3/9/2011 9:36:11 AM
both my wife and i work. she is hourly so if she misses work she doesn't get paid. i'm salary and can work from home so if chandler gets sick i'm usually the one stuck at home. i don't mind it though. i actually get more work done at home.

So really if you want someone to blame, it's the doctors for giving out antibiotics when they're unnecessary.

personally, i'm more concerned with drug-resistant bacteria than kids with hay fever

^ ding ding ding, that's the real issue.

Guy out again today. Relevant to this thread, both his kids have caught it now. I forsee he is gone the rest of the week.
3/9/2011 10:55:10 AM
^^ Word. I also wish they'd stop putting triclosan in everything they can think of. Even the company that makes that antibacterial compound admits it's a bad idea to be putting it into plastics and shit.
