I wouldn't know... I've had a cell since 93... I'm such an old user of sprint, I'm on the 10+year grandfather plan.

My phone is made out of coconuts.

Before I got my Droid, I was a lot more trusting of my driving instincts/intuition when it came to short cuts and the fastest way to get somewhere. Now, when in doubt, I just plug into the navigation app.Whenever I think of some feature or program I'd appreciate having to make my life easier or keep track of things, I assume that there'll be a free version in the app store.

4/3/2011 1:45:18 PM
i got a cell phone late in life, relatively, at the age of 27.i use my phone for calls and texts only. since i never had it before the age of 27, it made a big impact on my day-to-day life. shortly after, i started my private tutoring of hs/college students. without my phone, i would not have been able to make as much money as i have been able to.
4/3/2011 1:54:48 PM
The biggest thing getting a 'smart' phone changed in my life is that now I know that no matter what time it is or where I am, when my husband emails me I can respond immediately.
4/3/2011 2:03:15 PM
google chat has prevented texts from adding up, important for those of us that dont have unlimited texts

Got a tablet computer coming in the mail tomorrow... expecting it to change my lifestyle/habits quite a lot. Most of the things I read for work I have electronic copies of ... this either means printing it to paper to read it at a desk or to read it on a computer screen (again, crunched over a desk). Hopefully this tablet will give me more physical freedom so I don't have to spend so much time locked up at my terminal
4/3/2011 2:25:59 PM
Unrelated, but YIM and AIM helped more than typing class to increase my typing speed and accuracy (the class in High School had JUST switched to computers instead of typewriter).....and at work, we keep the email open all the time and that also helped increase the speed and accuracy of the typing.

It's very nice to:Always have directionsAlways have news (I'm a news junkie)Always have a game, internet, camera, with youAlways have a hobby (yeah, I like gadgets. Believe it or not, cell phones are a hobby)Always be connected to your outlook (calendar, email, notes, tasks)Not have to talk to people I don't want to at dinnerHave another thing in my pocket weighing down on my junk (when it vibrates)It sucks to:Always be connected to your outlook (calendar, email, notes, tasks)Always be connected via the phone (I have quite a few people set to 'automatically go to voicemail')Have another thing in my pocket pressing down on my junk]

this is going to make me sound like a nerdbut besides the typical stuff like always having directions, being able to get up-to-date emails for school, etc.... I have a genetic code app, and I can look up stuff on PubMed on the go

4/4/2011 10:54:42 AM
I don't have a cell phone yet, I'm still holding out, so cell phones have only affected me indirectly.1) Getting stuck behind someone going slow/weaving on the highway because they are on their phone.2) Being stuck on the phone for an hour because a friend/relative calls while they are on a long road trip or commute and they've decided that you are their entertainment. They won't let the conversation end (without a scenario where you have to be rude to them) until they get to wherever it is they are going.3) Witnessing people that can no longer make simple decisions for themselves. They'll call home to find out which flavor of jelly to buy in the grocery store and call back 5 minutes later when it comes to the tricky decision of which cereal to buy.4) Wondering what people did before there were cell phones. From casual observation some people can't seem to handle more than 60 seconds of quiet time. At second 59 they must call someone on the phone before their head explodes.Like I said I don't have a cell, so I'm more than a bit bias. I just can't stand being on the phone, ever, so I've purposely avoided them. I need my multiple hours per day where I can't be reached. Also, this personality quirk of mine makes it hard for me to understand the psyche of the person that is practically surgically grafted to a phone and in a conversion nearly every free second of their day.[/rant]

#1. I have met this guy through a mutual friend#2. He is going through a bitter divorce and is in a big fight over the kids#3. If he did do this, mutual friend who knows him from highschool says if true, "it really wouldnt be surprising"#4. If he didnt do this, its likely it has to do with the ex wife situation, she cheated twice and is a huge bitch. (may not be true, to cover my ass)#5. I wont give his name, he may be innocent, and if he isnt, it will be on the news.#6. All info above is from a well respected person, but may not be 100% accurate, once again, to cover my ass. You're welcome Tdub, Ernie gets credit for the assist
