Even if you didn't care at all for his new band and another band you like is playing on another stage, would you watch them just for the experience of seeing Robert Plant in concert?Going to Merlefest tomorrow.
5/1/2011 12:40:59 AM

5/1/2011 12:42:16 AM

Exactly, sweet stories are cool.
5/1/2011 12:44:03 AM

5/1/2011 12:44:56 AM
Who?
5/1/2011 1:50:25 AM
when he did the Raising Sand album with Alison Krause, they did a Doc Watson song...we were visited Doc and his wife and they were telling us about it...Doc said, "That nice little Alison Krause girl is doing one of my songs as a duet with Robert Plant...I think he was in a rock and roll band"since Doc is like 100 years old it was funny to me to hear him say it like he did

5/1/2011 8:05:16 AM
nah... I wouldn't care that muchI don't like saying I saw someone and have them play crap I don't like (ie: allman brothers when they played only their new blues crap about 6 years ago)
5/1/2011 8:26:21 AM
are you talking about the mudsliding concert? they most definitely did not play mostly "new blues songs"
5/1/2011 10:08:18 AM
Majority of the stuff they played was off their new album, and they did not play a single classic hit of theirs... I couldn't believe I liked skynard better than them that night. They did have some jams, but everyone I talked to after agreed with me in that their set list was slow, boring, and obscure
5/1/2011 10:12:42 AM
this aint rap...kill yo self fool
5/1/2011 10:13:05 AM
you're fucking crazy, they played two songs of their "new album" and they played statesboro blues, southbound, jessica, they covered the grateful deads "franklins tower" which is a super rare song for them. you talked to stupid people who know nothing, that show was awesome. sorry they didn't play ramblin man 20 timesHot 'Lanta, Statesboro Blues, I Walk On Guilded Splinters, Look Who's Been Talking, Wasted Words, Old Before My Time, Woman Across The River, Dreams, Why Does Love Have To Be So Sad, Franklin's Tower, Melissa, Leave My Blues At Home, Jessica --Encore: Southbound
5/1/2011 10:20:52 AM
Is that the right set list? Because i distinctly remember them not playing melissa, and you are the first person i have talked to that liked their decisions... you dirty hippyAnd not saying they played awful- they just didnt play anything the majority of the folks who paid for tickets wanted
5/1/2011 10:28:01 AM
9/30/05 Alltel Pavilion, Raleigh, NCwarren haynes couldnt even ruin that show, god I hate warren haynesI'm pretty sure you just dont appreciate live allman brothers, which is fine but don't put it off as a bad show just because YOU and your lame-o friends didn't like it, that show was great for people who like live allman brothers[Edited on May 1, 2011 at 10:35 AM. so to summarize:
5/1/2011 11:35:06 AM
looks like he's playing LZ songs on this tour, or at least he did at one showhttp://www.spinner.com/2011/04/30/robert-plant-new-orleans-jazz-fest-2011/
5/1/2011 12:33:56 PM
only if it is 75% led zep songs otherwise I don't want to hear that crap
5/1/2011 12:37:18 PM
^^^In a venue like that for a show like that the majority of the people there aren't total jam-band hippy heads... And the majority of people wouldn't know half of those "classics" you listedin summary, you're wrong (and I was wrong on one other thing- Travis liked the set list, but said he could agree that most people who went to that show might be a little disappointed)NANSbut like i said earlier- agree to disagree. you gotta realize- not everyone is as into that style of music as you... that's like me telling you that going to watch bubba watson in golf is as good as going to see tiger... no one goes to see Bubba, but as a big golf fan, I want to go see him crush it as he is the longest driver in golf- a fact most people don't know. You'd probably just want to see the big names if they came through, and that is who the majority of people going to a tournament are going to see. or an even better analogy- if Incubus came to play in town, I would be thrilled if they played mostly stuff off of fungus or science, but most people would want them to play mostly stuff from make yourself or morning view and newer, and would be upset if they didn't. [Edited on May 1, 2011 at 5:26 PM. Reason : halfway relevant analogy... but I know saps will still argue and try to tell me I'm wrong][Edited on May 1, 2011 at 5:30 PM. I saw Robert Plant and Allison K. at Bonaroo in 2008 or 2009......I thought they were the best act. After hearing their set, Derrik Trucks was starting so we went over....couldnt even listen to Derrik after hearing Plant and Krauss
5/1/2011 5:53:47 PM
^^ you are into their older stuff... look at what albums actually made money- that is who the majority of fans are... you arw like me and lindsey in this argument, but most people didnt get into their stuff until the early to mid 2000's... until then, their best selling album was a gold- their newer stuff is triple platinum
5/1/2011 5:57:48 PM
I'd go see Robert Plant in concert...if he was playing with Jimmy Paige
5/1/2011 6:22:34 PM
i'd probably do itjust to say i didit ain't "bleach stain jeans" robert plant, but it would be cool just to see him in a show
5/1/2011 6:25:01 PM
I saw John Paul Jones a couple of years ago at Christmas Jam in Asheville and it was amazing. I could only imagine seeing Plant.
