What do you prefer? I use hard wax for my bikini area. Best bang for your buck. You?
5/25/2011 9:55:22 PM
Dat 190% razor.
5/25/2011 9:56:28 PM
I use an epilator but am considering laser treatment when I can afford it.
5/25/2011 9:57:39 PM
I really want laser hair removal, especially when Groupon says I can get it for 80% off. I haven't tried waxing yet because I heard it hurts. Is it really worth the pain? I also heard it was 5 weeks with no hair!
5/25/2011 9:58:38 PM
I can't wax my bikini area I get back ingrown hairs and it doesn't help... I am thinking of laser hair removal
5/25/2011 9:58:41 PM
Laser burns like the clap.
5/25/2011 9:58:56 PM
I only shave right now. Can't afford laser. Want to wax for the wedding/honeymoon, but as I have never done it, I'm a bit scared.
5/25/2011 9:59:08 PM
^^^^Maybe it's like that for the ladies, but it takes less than a week for the hair to return above the surface of the skin for me[Edited on May 25, 2011 at 10:01 PM. Reason : ^have you considered an epilator
5/25/2011 10:00:35 PM
One time I tried this cheap home waxing kit on my vag. I finally built up the nerve to rip it off and then rolled around on the floor for 30 minutes. After the pain subsided, I looked at my vag to realize no hair was removed. That kind of turned me off from waxing.
5/25/2011 10:01:30 PM
Dang
5/25/2011 10:02:20 PM
I shave. Would love to try waxing but like piddlebug I am le scared
5/25/2011 10:03:55 PM
If you have never waxed before, then you probably don't want to do it the first time for your wedding/honeymoon. The first time hurts like a bitch. After that your skin gets used to it and your hair is finer. After my first wax, I think i was sore for a week or more. After doing it regularly, I would not be sore the next day.I want to laser but it is $$$ and the guarantees seem to be dwindling these days (or they have loopholes that favor the business).
5/25/2011 10:15:48 PM
I wax my lady parts. So much better.
5/25/2011 10:17:25 PM
omg. poor bmel. but bmel's stories are KILLING me today. i am dying laughing at the image of rolling around on the floor in pain. and then the epic disappointment of no hair being removed after all of that.
5/25/2011 10:20:52 PM
Isn't laser permanent? If time is money, then isn't it worth the money?
5/25/2011 10:22:41 PM
^I heard it is, and it's the first choice of transsexual women everywhere, followed by touch-ups of electrolysis to catch the straggling terminal hairsat least the lucky folks with pale skin and dark hair, otherwise it doesn't work
5/25/2011 10:24:19 PM
laser is 'permanent' but it doesn't always work 100% on everyone. In the long run, laser would be cheaper than a lifetime of waxing or shaving, but you have to pay it all up front and i don't have the cashflow for that now.
5/25/2011 10:25:30 PM
I plucked my bikini line with tweezers. Each pube that I snatched out gave me an orgasm.
5/25/2011 10:27:57 PM
^do you also have trichotillomania? lolpersonally I've only used the tweezers for the hairs on my shaft, and it takes a while but I do enjoy the look and feel of a normal, smooth shaft
5/25/2011 10:29:40 PM
5/25/2011 10:40:16 PM
Sam, use TendSkin. It is great for preventing razor burn.
5/25/2011 11:37:42 PM
I'm never waxing again. The pain was fine as I think I have a really high pain tolerance, but it started growing back within the week and I also had to deal with the horrible ingrown hair issue. I've tried it twice.
5/25/2011 11:40:52 PM
TendSkin prevents ingrowns.
5/25/2011 11:42:06 PM
Does it prevent folliculitis too? Because that's actually what I had but that is really gross and I didn't particularly want to admit to that.[Edited on May 25, 2011 at 11:46 PM. Reason : though also ingrowns too ]
5/25/2011 11:45:57 PM
I prevents the HIV, but nothing else.
5/25/2011 11:47:16 PM
I know a dude who got laser hair removal on his back. He had to go about 3 or 4 times to get it all, and whatever package he got included free "touch ups" after that. It cost him some loot but for obvious reasons he didn't want back hair.
5/25/2011 11:51:46 PM
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-5l3C_gcCgalso from the wife, "waxing isn't too bad, take some advil before you go, it'll help"
5/26/2011 12:00:02 AM
hairless women ftw
5/26/2011 12:02:42 AM
completely hairless is not sexy imolawn maintenance ftw
5/26/2011 12:03:45 AM
waxing scares me and so do lasersshaving works just fine with some bikini zone afterwards to keep ingrown hairs from happeningmaybe im just lucky in the hair department but i dont have problems keeping everything in check and as i have stated before somewhere on here, i dont grow armpit hair which is the only thing i would probably consider lasering
5/26/2011 12:03:50 AM
^ yeah I have major problems with shaving and waxing... the ingrowns are ridiculous. and it doesn't help that many times 3 hairs will be growing out of one follicle/TMI[Edited on May 26, 2011 at 12:05 AM. Reason : .]
5/26/2011 12:04:51 AM
if i miss an area with the bikini zone or forget to put it on (which you think i wouldn't considering how painful ingrowns are...)i will go after the ingrown with tweezers and exfoliate the affected skin. usually takes care of it, even if it's a little sensitive directly afterwards
5/26/2011 12:09:57 AM
^luckily for me my ingrown hairs usually run along my cornified epithelial layer, so I can usually see them and pinch the skin off so they can be removed by the epilator
5/26/2011 12:14:15 AM
how does an epilator work? i dont think ive ever heard of it
5/26/2011 1:07:28 AM
I just shave it all, and I don't have any problems with ingrown hairs.
5/26/2011 1:13:10 AM
Hairless FTW!
5/26/2011 3:34:56 AM
^^^It's a mechanical device that grips and pulls out individual hairs.
5/26/2011 5:30:55 AM
That thing looks scary. When I grow up I am going to get laser hairnremoval for my under arms and maybe my vag. I heard if you have thick hair it works better.
5/26/2011 9:01:48 AM
^^
5/26/2011 10:15:18 AM
i pay for a brazilian every month (don't think i'd have the nerve to wax myself) -- for me the pain is instantaneous but goes away just as quickly so there's no lasting issues as long as i can get through those 15min (which really aren't that bad); used to use tendskin religiously but generally don't have much of a problem with ingrownsrecommendations for good waxing places are huge, definitely not looking forward to moving next month and finding a new place -- i've tried several different places the past 2 years and still haven't found one i love here and prefer to go to my old place in san diego whenever possiblelaser removal has never really occurred to me as an option
5/26/2011 2:51:14 PM
Where are you moving? And hard wax or soft?
5/26/2011 2:54:01 PM
