mine is more of an inverted pyramidor maybe a food column, with all the groups (except the sugar/fat group) in pretty equal proportion
5/28/2011 8:27:42 PM
This happened quite a while ago.
5/28/2011 9:41:56 PM
mine closely resembles a hamburger, topped with crunchy peanut butter and everlasting gobstoppers

5/29/2011 8:36:17 AM
so basically it goes back to the way I learned it in '91 except it's a circle instead of boxesokI thought they'd at least size the slices according to recommended intake %
5/29/2011 8:54:25 AM
^i thought they were doing that
5/29/2011 8:56:44 AM
i didnt see the article mention that. they just say 4 slices with some dairy on the side, so I'd assume 4 equal quarters for easier interpretation/pic-insertion
5/29/2011 9:12:38 AM
hmmmmm, i have no idea i honestly didnt read the whole article, i skimmed through it

5/29/2011 10:53:27 AM
oh shit.you must be rich i probably consume 2-4 tablespoons of EVOO plus about 2 handfuls of mixed nuts, daily.yeah, avocado could br placed in that [sadly non-existent] fat sliver.
5/29/2011 10:56:59 AM

5/29/2011 1:43:37 PM
If the food pyramid is too complicated then people seriously need to go back and pass the second grade.
5/30/2011 12:24:05 AM
Again, I think now is not the time to be focusing on EgyptI got nothing derp derp
5/30/2011 12:25:25 AM
^^1) The pyramid is false, according to what we know today. 6 to 11 servings of grain products a day? That's a sure fire recipe for insulin resistance (i.e., obesity, diabetes, heart disease, etc).2) But let's say the pyramid is a good recipe. I don't think there is any one who doesn't understand it... most people know what is healthy and what isn't (as per the pyramid)... they just choose to eat what they like or crave or can't resist, i.e., junk food and fast food.3) At the same time, you do have to consider that the pyramid is not a very good design of something that is easy to follow. It requires you to keep track of the number of servings of the different groups you eat daily. The new pictorial will show people what exactly their PLATE should look like at meal time, instead of keeping a running tally of food group servings. You can't argue that that isn't easier to follow.4) Finally, most people are pretty 'stupid', in most countries. So, regardless of the government's new pictorial guidelines, people will eat what they want to eat. And there will always be people who will eat shit but claim they are following the guidelines:1/4 plate of white bread/rice1/4 plate of spam1/4 plate of french fries1/4 plate of canned fruit in heavy syrupHey, that matches the new guidelines:1/4 grain1/4 meat/protein1/4 veggies1/4 fruit!!!

If you need ANY logo to show you how to eat healthy you're a fucking idiot.
6/3/2011 5:58:30 PM
The only food pyramid I need is the massive ziggurat of goodness that I build on my plate at Golden Corral.

Not sure I understand the change. I've always thought the pyramid was the government trolling the mass of dumbasses. Apparently, they're not getting enough bites? It's not even about getting enough exercise, affording healthier foods, or resolving the psychological problems of comfort eating.Responding to your body is hard? Is it not obvious why your dozing off after lunch or sitting on the toilet for 10 min? For fuck sakes, it's like knowing you need to take a shit or if you are bleeding.
