people are DTF
6/9/2011 10:05:47 PM
^this. also bloodlines actually mean something to a lot of people.
6/9/2011 10:06:41 PM
what is dtf?
6/9/2011 10:07:30 PM
I know a lot of people who are adopted or have adopted. I think it's more common than a lot of people realize, but it's a private family matter that isn't public knowledge.
6/9/2011 10:07:32 PM
I heard adoption is expensive and you have to fill out a bunch of paperwork. Its a lot more to fuck and see what happens, imo.[Edited on June 9, 2011 at 10:08 PM. Reason : fix]

If you adopt, you miss out on the whole 9 month pregnancy experience... Experiencing that part of nature/life is important to a lot of people.Oh and I'm sure its also because it's easier to have your own kid (assuming you are capable) than going through a child adoption process. My aunt had a helluva time adopting her two children, but then again, I understand YMMV.
6/9/2011 10:08:10 PM
having a baby is expensive and you have to fill out a lot of paperwork
6/9/2011 10:08:41 PM
but you still get to fuck a lot
6/9/2011 10:09:23 PM
at least once

Snooki is adopted. And now she goes out n fucks n stuffDTFSo my stance on this issue is...exactly
6/9/2011 10:10:10 PM
who wants some reject baby?
6/9/2011 10:10:16 PM
I always wanted to adopt. Its a win win. If the kid is a success its due to outstanding parenting. If the kid is a fuckup, its all the fault of genetics.
6/9/2011 10:11:03 PM
hahahaha
6/9/2011 10:11:38 PM
another thing to note is a large number of pregnancies aren't planned
6/9/2011 10:11:42 PM
Unfortunately, it's not easy to adopt a child... Some countries have specific rules about the parent, some being they have to be under a certain BMI... and in our own country it's hard to adopt a kid.

Perhaps it's the tangible persistence of one's DNA. Complete with the combined positives and negatives accumulated throughout hundreds or thousands of years of procreation. Also it sounds better to me than taking over the development of someones failed abortion.
6/9/2011 10:12:50 PM
I wouldn't be opposed to adopting but I've always wanted a child or two of my own. How does anyone think that "doesn't make sense?"I just need to get on finding a girl who shares that view

6/9/2011 10:13:14 PM
fuck you haters
6/9/2011 10:13:51 PM
well..without getting personal....someone recently showed back up in my family who actually was adopted to another family basically at birth and with the information age tracked down his mother and now is after his piece of her moneyI guess you can't escape your douchebag family. There's something to be said for DNA. fuckers[Edited on June 9, 2011 at 10:16 PM. Reason : out of politeness he waited until both his parents died before reaching out to bio fam]
6/9/2011 10:14:51 PM
It can be much worse because you can be promised a child, then the country could put all adoptions on hold for 2 years, then you might be able to adopt somewhere else, and find out you're not "qualified" (even if you have a professional degree and clean record)They need to totally redo the adoption system, imoIf you want to see how horrible it is (including foster care), read "A Piece of Cake" by Cupcake Brown
6/9/2011 10:15:37 PM
EXPENSIVE! I never got why it was but didn't look fully into the reason.
6/9/2011 10:15:47 PM
Probably because they have to pay foster parents to take care of the childrenthen pay people to do paperwork, etc... though I think it could be cheaper

Also, I hate to say it, but... some people don't feel a child that didn't come from a pregnancy they created is truly "theirs."
6/9/2011 10:18:51 PM
6/9/2011 10:19:15 PM
In regards to your price range, I've never heard of an adoption only costing $5... and to say $5-40 is a crazy big range. I have always heard $30-40 (at least).I think one thing that blew my mind were the people who were willing to pay $Texas on multiple rounds of IVF, but wouldn't adopt.
6/9/2011 10:21:28 PM

Hell, even my uncle who adopted a son tells me I am the only true male heir to my family name. (in patriarchal terms anyways. )course he loves his adopted son...who now has a baby of his own. so two generations actually outside of the family. didn't think about that til just now. neat.
6/9/2011 10:23:42 PM
There is a lot that you cannot control (like environmental exposures) when you adopt. There are a lot of children in the system that are the products of poor prenatal care, drugs, alcohol, and other fetal detriments. Some people do not feel prepared to handle all of that and feel that they can at least control that much with their own pregnancy.
6/9/2011 10:25:31 PM
Cool story bro
6/9/2011 10:25:41 PM
I am adopted and it kind of sucks ass. I know that everyone in my family loves me unconditionally and i love them the same, but there is always this feeling -not that i don't belong but- maybe there is somewhere else that i should be. I think my family (and the second family i had at school) provided me with a pretty strong sense of community and simultaneously a sense of independence and if i hadn't i would've rather had been aborted. Fuck going through the foster system and fuck being raised in families where siblings/extended family don't care about you. I know a few people who go through that and it bleeds into every aspect of their being.Long story short:I'm adopted, and i'm very in favor of abortion. Not because i wish i was dead or anything, (i don't because i'm the shit and it would suck ass for y'all if i wasn't here) but other people have shitty ass lives and get trapped in the same cycle as their parents.I'm AstralAdvent and i approved this message.[Edited on June 9, 2011 at 10:27 PM. Its hard to love something tat didn't come from your penis.
6/9/2011 10:28:49 PM
I can't believe it costs that much money to adopt (on top of what it costs to raise a child) but then again the adoption agencies have to have money to function....raising a kid from birth to 18 is close to $250,000 on average I think
6/9/2011 10:29:16 PM
gotta be more than that
6/9/2011 10:30:42 PM
actually if i married a chick and she couldnt have a child i would def adopt, i want to be a dad more than i want to be a dad of a child from my loins i would love them regardless just not anytime soon im still a big ass kid my damn self
6/9/2011 10:30:59 PM
i plan to adopt
