I've been to 2 outdoor weddings in back to back weekends now. These types of weddings suck in the summer because of the heat and bugs. We just missed the rain yesterday too. Do your friends and family a favor and get married indoors, or just sign the papers at the courthouse and have a party. Being a guy and having to dress at least simi-formal in the summer sucks when you have to go to an outdoor event. Winter weddings are better. Guys don't have to fry in their suits then.

ELOPE no one wants to wear a monkey suit and see you kiss

if outside was good enough for Jesus to get married in, then it's good enough for me[Edited on June 20, 2011 at 12:00 AM. Reason : .]

why have we decided that weddings are for summers? spring or late fall is much better for wearing a tux or suit.

I'm getting married outside in the evening towards the end of Maywe are having an open bar, yummy food, a great DJ, and a candy bar as a favorso I think people can suck it up if it's a little warm.

Personally, if I am going to make the effort to go to a wedding, I am going to like the people involved enough to suck it up and wear a fucking suit, even if it is blazingly hot outside.

^2 I don't understand that last bit. Just because she planned it while he was in Kentucky doesn't mean he had no say in the matter. If he really disagreed with getting married in the summer I'm sure they would have planned it for another time. He's partly to blame, too.[Edited on June 20, 2011 at 12:03 AM. Reason : ^ gets it]

6/20/2011 12:04:50 AM
ill tell you why people get married in the summerMst flowers are in full bloomRain during an outdoor wedding is good luck Know your shit
6/20/2011 12:05:08 AM
^^Planned a wedding that happened this past Friday. It was outside and like 90 degrees out. Everyone got over the heat when they got to the cocktail hour at the reception!
6/20/2011 12:05:20 AM
i want to get married under water
6/20/2011 12:05:36 AM
Do it inside with A/CProblem solved. Also never let a woman plan it all. They tend to not think about the little things
6/20/2011 12:05:40 AM
I think people forget that the ones having the outdoor ceremony are also probablyyyy going to consider how their guests feel being outdoors... i.e., make program fans, have the ceremony short and sweet, etc.Ours will be 15 minutes tops, and then everyone can go get their drink/dance/eat on underneath a pavilion
6/20/2011 12:07:00 AM
simi-formal

My old roommates wedding was like 15 minutes. It was awesome, especially since I stood in the wedding party as his best man[Edited on June 20, 2011 at 12:10 AM. Reason : .]

I do find it funny when people get married on the beach...I mean not the beach in general but they get married at public accesses...where it's super crowded...do you want your wedding pictures to have some bitch wearing a too small bikini walking around, or some dude bending over with his ass crack sticking out?Anytime I see a wedding on the beach down at the sheraton or the circle I always think of that one pictures where some fat bitch is walking behind the wedding topless.Best way to have a beach wedding. Rent a house that is a good distance away from from any public access. Have your ceremony. Then throw a huge party at the house you rented out for the reception. Your wedding party gets to crash in the house, and there will be plenty of hotels around for all your guests.[Edited on June 20, 2011 at 12:14 AM. Reason : ]

i'd love a fall wedding. outside. integrating classy pumpkins and hay and yummy whiskey drinks (fine line doing that shit though. reeeeallll fine. and i'm pretty sure whiskey won't be involved since i won't be allowed to have open bar...well open liquor bar. i'd be allowed wine and beers).the problem i foresee is footballand then i'm like, well i wouldn't do it on a game day (for ncsu). but there is always A game on on saturdays in the fall. and i'm like i wouldn't MIND a tv so people could see the score of whatever game(s), but i wouldn't want people to be crowded around a TV the entire time. but if you bring a TV into the mix you can't get mad if people crowd around it the entire time. but i know i'd be kinda angry if i had to go to a wedding during a big game and couldn't see the score. i guess enough people have smartphones now that maybe it doesn't matter. i really want outdoors and i love fall and october and november so IF i ever get married, football could be an issue. on topic: i went to a wedding at the beg of june during that heatwave and it was kinda miserable outside until the sun went down. the wedding was pimp though and i liked the venue a lot - angus barn pavillions. i think that place would rule for a fall wedding. they have a fire pit for a s'more station! though everyone at this wedding was like, FUCK YOUUUU fire pit. and standing in front of the giant fans. i mean it was hot. one of the nights it was still like 85 when the sun went down. oh and i got bitten by mosquitoes [Edited on June 20, 2011 at 12:21 AM. 6/20/2011 12:21:00 AM
i don't know about winter weddingsi really dig being outsidefall seems like the best weather wise for me. though i realize it can still be hot in the fall. i've been to december weddings with christmas themes (vom) and feb weddings with valentines themes (vom again)and in jan everything is just cold and deadthe only way i'd do winter is a destination wedding to a ski resort. OR alaska (though i guess you do that shit in the spring or summer and it is still cold) like Misha's friend who wore all this cool white fur and looked like a badass ice queen.
6/20/2011 12:24:23 AM
Do you have a boyfriend? Because you're thinking way to much about that shit.
6/20/2011 12:25:47 AM
i've gone to a lot of weddings recently/known a lot of people who have gotten married what can i sayplus most females think about these things even if they don't admit it. its not like i know what kind of flower arrangements i want, SHEESH
6/20/2011 12:29:12 AM
kadwackle... I think people love you enough to give up football for a dayI will admit, we really wanted an early to mid spring wedding. But there is NO WAY IN HELL I would get married during the semester in school - I would want to shoot myself from all the stressso... I'm really hoping we get lucky and it's not toooooo hot on the day of. Otherwise people will see me sweating.
6/20/2011 12:29:31 AM
say wedding and all the women show up ITT
6/20/2011 12:30:14 AM
You're going to meet the man of your dreams who has totally opposite preferences in weddings. And I'm going to lol
6/20/2011 12:31:21 AM
^^^ haha i hope they'd love me enough to give up football. BUT I AM A PEOPLE PLEASER!and at this last wedding i went to the bride and bridesmaids used that spray on make upi was skeptical at first tooBUT it actually looked natural and did really well with the sweat (as advertised - it is supposed to stay on and run free, etc). i filed that tidbit of info away in case i ever need to look awesome while i am wet and/or sweaty ^ like what. sweating during the summer in a tux and not drinking whiskey? i don't picture myself marrying someone that wants to get married in a tux. and who doesn't drink whiskey. i think i'm good thaaaank youu!in my other dream wedding scenario we get married at the court house and join the peace corps together. and save starving children in africa. but i have a dog and 2 cats and he has a cat so...there is pet drama.[Edited on June 20, 2011 at 12:36 AM. Wow.I can understand loving football, but if you would seriously be upset over missing a football game because you're at a loved one's wedding... you should probably check your priorities.[Edited on June 20, 2011 at 12:37 AM. Reason : it's called ESPN mobile, y'all]

^my bestfriend had a wedding on the same day of the UNC football game. I groaned about their poor choice of date, but there was no question I was going
6/20/2011 12:41:37 AM
that is definitely true. i (personally) would still not do it on an ncsu home game day though. mostly cause i'd prob wish i was at the game too.
6/20/2011 12:43:16 AM
Especially when the team in question is NC State. You don't need to watch the game to know there's gonna be some NC STATE SHIT RIGHT THERE.
6/20/2011 12:43:51 AM
i wouldn't schedule a wedding during State's football season (or college in general) because I, PERSONALLY, would be pissed about missing a game. Not for the sake of other people
6/20/2011 12:45:40 AM
6/20/2011 12:48:31 AM
NC State shit would be planing a January wedding, a year in advance, and us playing for the national title on that date.
6/20/2011 12:48:34 AM
My aunt (who also went to State) scheduled her fall wedding for our off weekend that year...that was super nice.It was a small wedding (family only) so she knew she'd have to take that into account.

6/20/2011 12:57:01 AM
I can definitely understand it being scheduled that way if the bride and groom are huge football fans (maybe that's why Eric didn't want a fall wedding ), but it would make me all -.o if someone was pissed about missing a game over someone else's wedding being scheduled that dayknow what I mean?
6/20/2011 12:59:25 AM
My bf's best friend is getting married this fall in Vegas the day before the Central Michigan game.I am PISSED I am going to have to miss it for this wedding. (Although technically I could fly back before the game.)I am hoping there is some way I will get out of this wedding...also factor in that I'm not a huge fan of the groom...he pisses me off every time we hang out.
6/20/2011 1:02:35 AM
^^Yeah I know what you mean. I think most people try to avoid inturupting everyday life as much as possible though. That is why my parents got married in February since all of their relatives on all sides of the family were pretty much all Iowa farmers. No one has to deal with farming in the winter.[Edited on June 20, 2011 at 1:03 AM. Reason : .]

6/20/2011 1:04:01 AM
I feel like a bitch for saying this, but we didn't pick our date that way it honestly fell on May 19th because May 12th would have been the soonest date following the end of my grad school, but graduation is that day and that just wasn't going to work/selfish I guess
6/20/2011 1:04:39 AM
don't wear a fall/winter suit to a summer wedding. learn how to dress.problem solved.
6/20/2011 1:08:54 AM
I havent read any of this, but... 1. dont get married before 30 at least, if its "meant to be" then you will last just fine without a piece of paper for a few years.2. dont plan your wedding in the fall, thats just stupid, you are just doing it to MAKE people choose between you and football, dont be a dick.3. beach weddings are corny4. have a low key wedding and use the money instead on a kick ass honeymoon, everyone goes to weddings, they wont remember yours after a few months, no matter how "special" it is, hell, you wont remember much about it, because you will be nervous as shit the whole time, but a month long trip to Europe, you will remember that shit forever.
6/20/2011 1:12:04 AM
i went to an outside wedding in the mountains on saturday...was promptly greeted by a thunderstorm and 50-60mph straight line winds and then miserable rain afterwards...it was greati will say the venue was amazing, sans thunderstorm
