^^^by saving up i really mean put on credit card and pay for it later, sorry for the confusion^^i read a ton of reviews on bestbuy.com and through CNET and the biggest complaint i heard was that there is a bit of a lag time between shots (unless you are using burst mode), but from what I saw other people say was the lag time is really only significant if you are a serious photographer/pro and used to an SLR camera that you can just mad-click the shutter for multiple photos. For me its not quite as necessary, and if needed ill just switch over to burst mode and problem solved.Other complaint I saw was no viewfinder, but again, not really a big deal for me.and for $350 you really cant ask for a better deal in quality/features for a digital camera[Edited on June 21, 2011 at 11:35 AM. I just use my phone, man. I mainly just take cock pics...not trying to be the next Ansel Adams.

i will preface this with making sure you understand this is just my humble opinion ...i see no point at all in having a GPS unless you are a hiker or an explorer or soemthing
6/21/2011 11:37:02 AM
as a guy, i find that spending money on a digital camera is a waste of money. they are too big to fit in a pocket so you won't always have it with you and there is usually a girl around with a purse and a camera already. i bought one a few years back and used it maybe 3 times because i never had it on me.finally i bought a cell phone with a quality camera and now take pictures of things all the timethis has been another rbrthwrd useful advice post
6/21/2011 11:37:48 AM
my phone doesn't take very good pics

yall act like being a hiker is a profession, as if normal people dont hike or explore
6/21/2011 12:07:09 PM
lol i mean there are uses for itbut i just think that for me personally i could see it coming in handy in situations like BigHitSunday mentioned which almost never happens.....unless you hike a lot (which i covered in my op )^ i rarely ever hike. and if i do its gonna be in umstead or some shit where i can take the pic and then tell people...oh its in umstead on this path ahaha[Edited on June 21, 2011 at 12:08 PM. even if you can place something in a map, its nice not having to do it multiple times. gps stamps automate that so you can post your adventure on a map. you don't need to be hiking to enjoy that feature, i use it for vacations with road trips (cell phone does it).
6/21/2011 12:10:50 PM
is that so you personally can go to it again?also vacations and road trips-its fun to get lost!!! ive found some of the coolest spots because we put the gps up but i can see where ya'll are coming from.[Edited on June 21, 2011 at 12:14 PM. Reason : however i still think its a useless application for me anyway. ]
6/21/2011 12:11:56 PM
not necessarily so you can go to it again, but so you can see the bread crumb path with pictures as a record of your adventure
6/21/2011 12:15:43 PM

Unless there are some really bitchin' cell phone cameras out there that I'm not aware of, the difference is really noticeable to me, especially if the camera in quesion has some manual control available. I keep my Canon S70 in the car pretty much at all times, and if I think anything photo-worthy will be happening it comes with me. And that's kind of a bulky bastard. If I had something smaller that didn't basically take up an entire pocket (really want an S95 but can't justify spending the money at the moment), it would be easier yet.
